Watched The Holdovers on Peacock, think it's an instant holiday classic for me on an annual basis. Giamatti was great, terrific actor.

Dominic Sessa (First Hollywood role at 21 years old, bright future for him) and Da'Vine Joy Randolph were also tremendous, just 3 great actors playing off each other.

Iron Claw was sad as hell, even knowing the story going in. Great job by Efron and the actor who played Fritz.

Anyone but You was a funny RomCom with good looking people in it.

AMC Tuesday’s having 7 dollar tickets is a nice bonus.

A few things I've watched lately:

'Leave the World Behind' - I thought this was a good movie, acting was pretty good for a Netflix movie. I'm also a huge Sam Esmail fan and generally have a lot of time for his directorial style. I think if you were a fan of 'Mr. Robot' you'll enjoy this.

'Reptile' - Another really good Netflix joint. Again, though, I'm a big time Benicio DelToro fan (second favorite actor next to Christian Bale) but I still thought it was a great story on the merits.

I also started the third season of 'The Morning Show'. It's my guilty pleasure. I happen to think it's really well done and Billy Crudup, Jennifer Anniston and Reese Witherspoon play their parts well. It's the type of show that has the potential to be overly political and preachy but credit to the producers they don't allow the writing or story flow to get there. The show also does a really good job of lampooning cutthroat career climbing, generally.....it's a master class in bad things happening to bad or severely flawed people.

Also started 'Slow Horses'. Five episodes in to season one and I love it. The scatalogical humor is worth the price of admission alone.

I love Pedro Alonso’s character Berlin and it was a very entertaining season 1. But sometimes how they get out of these “setbacks” is a little ridiculous.

Society of the Snow on Netflix about the 1972 Uruguayan Rugby club team air disaster is incredible.
Didn't know they made another movie based on the 1972 crash. Did you read the book?
I read the original book published in the 1970's by Piers Paul Read.

i didnt. i knew about the crash and a some of the major details, but not everything. this movie is apparently very accurate to what actually happened.

Oof, thought it was absolutely horrible. The acting and the characters were so bad. All 3 kids in the movie were awful. It's a shame because the story had a lot of potential.

This review pretty much sums it up: "After a pretty strong start, Leave the World Behind loses its way, fumbling an interesting premise with unlikable characters, unbelievable dialogue, and a disappointing ending."

I watched it and while I think it was good I thought it was at least a half hour too long. It kind of dragged. It was a tough watch though. I fly a lot now and am already a little nervous about flying. I read online that the pilot just f***ed up because he was inexperienced.

i didnt think it went too long but it was about as long as i can take for a movie. yeah the pilot f***ed up bad. he hadnt even crossed over the andes yet and he thought he was over them and started a descent.

Society of Snow was good, if a little slow and I already knew the outcome.

Leave The World Behind was okay. I liked the premise but the execution left things to be desired. I also think it’s mostly predictive programming courtesy of our overlords.

I want to watch the new season of True Detective. Consistently hearing it’s the best since S1.

One can only hope because S2 and S3 were totally unwatchable.

Watched season 1 of the Icelandic Crime-drama Trapped. Great acting and visuals. Murders, politics, a huge storm that traps everyone in the town with the murderer still lurking. Watch it with subtitles. I really like these foreign crime dramas it's a good break from American made. So far all the Nordic Noir I've watched has been great.
Finished 10. These last couple of episodes make up for all the earlier crap. Season finale ended with a bang.
The ending was cool, but I did want more monster action. Godzilla x Kong should be good.

Any Pete Davidson's fans? The king of Staten Island was pretty good and recently I started watching his new series on Peacock based on his current life (on Staten Island again). It's reasonably good with IMO outstanding cast that includes Joe Pesci, Edi Falco, Bobby Cannavale, Brett Garrett etc
