Cocaine Bear was fun. Not a great film and had some uneven acting, but enjoyable enough. 90+ minutes was just enough.

I saw Top Gun: Maverick the other night. Really enjoyed it. One of the better big blockbusters post-pandemic. Great story and it didn't try to force humor/pop culture references like every MCU movie does.

Watching Star Trek: Picard Season Three (yes, I'm a huge Star Trek fan and got into it before hockey and the Rangers 30+ years ago). First episode was probably the best piece of Trek since Enterprise. Episodes 2 and 3 have been...uneven.

I tried to watch the final season of The Flash because I'm a huge comic fan growing up and I enjoyed seasons 1,2, and 5 of the series, but it's painful and beyond terrible writing/stories at this point. My goal was to finish the series but I may just watch the final episode.

Always was a bigger fan of the original than TNG and those spinoffs but this season is far more engaging than 1 & 2. I love that they're bringing back a lot of the crew from yesteryear in what feels like a final goodbye from that cast. Good stuff so far in season 3.

I felt episodes 2 & 3 have been largely uneven. I'm hoping it picks up and they can get away from so many winks and easter eggs...although the one thing I really want to see is the Enterprise-F before the last episode.

I really hate what the CW has done to the comic book franchises.

In what way?

I realize it's not everyone's cup of tea but as episodic tv they've been pretty successful for nearly a decade now. They can at times have terrible dialogue, be very preachy, and corny tropes or interpretations, but overall Arrow was very good, Flash had IMHO three excellent seasons, Supergirl/Black Lightning were underrated, and once Legends made some casting changes, Season Two and on were pretty funny.

MCU shows have been largely uneven too. I enjoyed Daredevil season 1-about 3/4 of season 2, S.H.I.E.L.D. had its moments, and I liked Cloak & Dagger.

Arrow was the only one I watched....lasted 5 seasons until it started going downhill.

I'm a classic comic person -- don't like the way they changed back stories. "Flash By Committee" (as I called it) just didn't work for me.

It did feel a lot more like Star Trek at times and the whole "We Are The Flash" with Barry and Iris got old really fast.

Part of the reason I'm sick of MCU is because everything is a joke or pop culture reference. Very little interest until they get to X-Men...which I'm sure they'll find a way to mess up.

I never understood getting rid of the basic tenet of superheroes: "secret" identities. Before Arrow was half over it seemed like everyone in town knew he was Oliver Queen...and if they didn't know, he was telling them.

I forgot to comment on MCU -- I've totally given up on them...everything has been dumbed down to where it's become total nonsense. When I heard Dr. Strange say "Let's Scooby Doo this shit!", I knew there was no hope or redemption for MCU.

I'm always reluctantly hopeful they'll have a good X-Men movie...but I know better. You have over 100 heroes to choose from and probably as many villains yet they're always going to go back to the Xavier/Magneto root and the Cyclops/Jean/Wolverine love triangle where Jean becomes Dark Phoenix. It's so boring. The good X-Men movies IMHO (X2, First Class, Days of the Future Past, Logan) had little to do with the later, and Magento wasn't the main villain or even in them.

Rumor has it Bishop will be in the movie so that could open up Fitzroy, The Hellfire Club as villains, Mojo has never been done, Arcade, Sinister proper (the Deadpool stuff doesn't really count), or even a possessed Naze if they want to go more mystique/supernatural.

Psylocke and Jubilee deserve better especially the former. I get Olivia Munn the actress looks like a decent interpretation of Kwannon/post-transformed Betsy, but how about starting the character as Caucasian/British like she was in the comics and working the whole body swap into the movie story?

(I'm done nerding out).

Been reading the last couple of pages here. With 4 days off from no Rangers hockey. Some good suggestions in here. I’m just about to wrap up the first season of Willow and need to start something else soon.

If anyone here is into British stuff, they recently aired a show called "Bad Sisters"....nothing high brow -- just good, clean fun (if you can call plotting to murder someone who deserves it fun!!!).

If anybody likes WW2 stuff there is a CBC series called X Company . It was pretty good...keep in mind I'm not in my 20's LOL.....I was hooked on the first show....it's not likely for everybody but it was entertaining . X Company | Shows | CBC Gem
Well done for a Canadian production. Liked the first season. Haven't gotten to the remaining 2 seasons.

Stumbled upon Physical:100 on Netflix. Just started watching, and this looks the bomb. Think Squid Game meets Gladiator, but a reality competition.
Im sorta late to this, had a lot of fun binging on this. And yeah the translations were great. I really wonder what “cruel” was. They said “ this is so cruel” or “that is so cruel” a majority of the series when describing challenges.
