I listen to sports podcasts exclusively in my car now. But I had the misfortune of catching a Campbell vs Gallo segment, where 2 callers tried to guess the player by the clues. Like seeing a car crash, I had to just listen in awe how this is considered sports radio. Did anyone else hear this segment? Complete with stupid sound effects. The fact these callers could not even guess the player until the last clue, shows you what is left listening to this station. It is really sad what english sports radio has become.

I can assure you, no I did not catch it. I have not put TSN on my radio in well over a month and it's been great. I enjoy the coverage on BPM Sports, I will stay there.

I keep being amazed at how little impact Andie Bennett is having on the show. She just looks like she’s going through the motions. So much empty banter. Melnick’s material is stale and repetitive, only good moments are when they have guests. They can’t save themselves at this point.

It's very rare I tune in as well and when I do all they are talking about in the morning is the same thing, it's like they are on loop discussing McDonalds, other fast food chains and candy bars. At least have the awareness to talk about good Montreal restaurants if you are not going to talk sports. IT'S REALLY BAD and I used to go to bat for guys like McKenna, Tony and Mitch.

Bennett was and is better than both but she came back at the wrong time and it's not the same, and I think she realizes this and probably regrets it. No inspiration or motivation any longer when everyone else is dire and has phoned it in, including Melnick.

I agree Bennett used to be very good on the show. Now you can tell she is trying hard to come up with good questions for the guests (usually something so off topic) and you can tell she has no interest in hearing the responses to her lame questions.

The end of tsn 690 is very near Talking at most 1 year.

This is why you hope Sportsnet had a local station here in Montreal. It would force TSN 690 to get their shit straight because there is competition. They'd be forced to up their game because while they have a competitor for sports content on BPM Sports, it's two different languages, so they don't have to force as much since they will always have listeners due to the language barriers.

But if Sportsnet was in town, they'd both be fighting for the same listeners and sponsors. And if TSN 690 doesn't get their shit straight and they crumble, the listeners would still have Sportsnet to fall back on.

Easily the worst radio segment ever, not just sports radio but radio in general. Cock jokes? Really? Cock and ball jokes on the radio.. when kids are driving with parents in the car, parents have to switch the station. I’m alone in the car and I switch the station.

What an embarrassment.

That's pretty cool and a very nice gesture by Gally. It was also nice hearing Dan back on 690 yesterday talking about tonight's game against the Jets.

Also I thought I was the only one left here that still listened to 690 regularly and everyone else had moved on to another Habs related source. Although seeing the constant complaining here about how bad 690 is now shows that many still seem to be listening since why would one anyone complain constantly about something they say they no longer listen to.
