I don't think you'll see the Leafs give up their 1st round pick next year, even with a condition.

For a 22 year old RHD who would likely be signed 6-8 yrs and projects to be a top pairing D. I make that trade. Yes it would suck loosing out on potentially a player like Foote but who knows where we pick. Its top 5 protected so if we are a lottery team and get top 5 pick we get our man.

We have a ton of LHD that should be ready to make the jump, and some that will up with the team maybe next year (Dermott).

Jets won't trade him unless they get exactly what they want for him.

No trouba? Oh well... Buff and Myers will have to do on the right. Toby and Morrissey will have to do on the left. Jets won't trade Trouba unless they get Exactly what they want. Or he can sit at home on his ass for a bit.

What's the rules on expansion? Because he could just get picked up by Las Vegas.

Nurse is 21 and isn't anywhere close to looking like an NHL D man. He could still turn it around, but more often then not players his age who struggle as badly as he did last year never amount to much.

Until he actually shows something at the NHL level I have no interest in Nurse
Because of injuries and the Oilers lacking depth he was playing 20-24 minutes a night from December on. Hard for any rookie to survive that kind of ice time. Trouba definitely didn't get thrust into that role

Columbus, Edmonton, Arizona, Winnipeg.

Not exactly "desired" NHL destinations now are they (i.e. low salary cap ceiling, poorly managed, lottery teams)? This is with all due respect to their fans and the cities. It's just the way it is.

Columbus has no problem paying guys. They don't have a low internal cap. They'd have gone $8m long term with Johansen if they weren't scared of his conditioning and personality issues, and they'd have kept Rychel if they thought he had top six upside.

perfect for Jets. They don't really need him due to ride side depth. Chevy will hit another homerun in a trade and make the team better.

I have always found Trouba slightly overrated and IMO this will work in Jets favor on the ice and contract wise

I didn't like his play at World Cup. This will be good for Jets and the fans

I would do RNH + Nurse for Trouba + Lowry or begrudgingly trade Draisaitl straight up for Trouba.

Klefbom - Larsson
Sekera - Trouba
Davidson - Gryba

PLEASE ACQUIRE TROUBA, CHIARELLI!

Excuse me! Please hand in your Oilers fan club card on the way out the door.

Ciao

The Jets will eventually deal him for a collection of lesser parts. When your guy has to be traded you almost always lose the best player in the deal.

It won't matter how long you wait, the outcome won't change unless Trouba relents and signs with the Jets.

We heard a lot of the same during the Kane situation. We came out pretty strong there.

Yikes, feel bad for Jets' Fans.

I really dislike his agent. The way he dealt with the RyJo situation and now this. It's not how things should be handled. No use airing out dirty laundry publicly. This can only hurt his trade value, Jets should not be happy with Mr. Overhardt right now. Hopefully they can get back a D man of similar value.

Let's face reality, no one really ever wants to play in Winnepeg.

Wow dude really!

It's Winnipeg

I don't get why he can't play on the right side in Winnipeg. They have Myers, Byfuglien and who else on right?

chevy will get a great haul. IMO hes one of the most underrated GMs in the league

I hope so. I think Trouba has high market value and Chevy will have lots of good offers.

My guess is that Chevy might be looking at something bigger that transforms the roster. He has a deep stack of assets at forward and needs D. He might be working on a multiplayer blockbuster, or multiple contingent deals. This is an important juncture for Chevy and the Jets and he'll take his time to try to get it right.

Ehh, he's had a long leash. Las Vegas's GM will not have the same leash. And most GM's can't have his record and still have their jobs. He's done well with back-against-the-wall trades though

Where there's smoke, there's fire.

The warning signs were there, even if they were "questionable"

There was never a need to say "nope, no, no chance trouba leaves Winnipeg" like the majority of jets fans proclaimed

Who gives a rat *ss Get over it

I think Sekera + 2017 1st should get the conversation started. Sekera is similar caliber right now, maybe even for the next 2 years, then the 1st covers the additional potential of Trouba. It could definitely be argued that Trouba's potential is worth more than a 1st in the (likely) 15ish range, but you factor in the trade request and contract demands and I think it's reasonable value.

I could see teams offering better value deals, but I'm not sure how many of those deals will meet the (presumed) requirements of a similar caliber LHD.

Not only that it sounds like Trouba is being a prima Donna going public wanting to be traded on his first big contract. Lindholm hasn't done that to Anaheim yet
That we know of. Trouba's camp kept it quiet for 4 months

I wouldn't. RNH is the Oilers only C that has played a full season and has a 200 foot game.

I'm glad you're not Chiarelli.
:handclap:

Probably but we need that right handed D man over a center at this point.

Adding Larsson and Trouba in the same summer would be the best summer this team has had since Pronger & Peca back in 2005.
Larsson, Puljujarvi and Lucic.
Price is way too high for Trouba. The eye test says he's not great and Jets fans blame Lowry for his poor fancy stats
