Because HalfBoard fan boys are actually the GMs of NHL teams...
- Trouba couldn't get a significant role on the Jets who have decent but not great defensive unit.
- Trouba wants more money than what he has proven thus far.
- Trouba's agent is a deterrent to other NHL GMs.
- Trouba requested a trade.
All this adds up to Trouba's value being far FAR less than what you're dreaming of.

Ah I'm reading the NHL article now. If that's the case it might have been hard to promise Trouba a RHD spot in the top 4 with Myers recovering from two surgeries being unable to trade him while he's recovering.

I'd like to see him go to Edmonton or even Arizona/Toronto. I think all 3 teams could use a strong young RHD on their top pairings like Trouba. Rielly+Trouba, OEL+Trouba, Klefbom+Trouba/Larsson... he'd probably not end up in Arizona though given Overhardt's mucking around with them previously, although with a new GM who knows how that situation ends up.

Yeah, and watch the back tracking people like you do if he signs in Toronto. He's a solid #3 right now whose development has been primarily defensive due to usage. Why do you think he wants a trade?

Damn, really sucks for the Jets. Truly do feel bad for them, but I can't lie, at least this creates some drama and thus some entertainment should arise from this. Still, my sympathies are with them. I hope my team never has to go through something like this.

I think you misunderstood my message. The question was rhetorical. He wants a trade so he can realize his potential, because he's been road blocked behind Buff and Myers on the right hand side forced to babysit a vet no longer capable of playing NHL minutes.
