I don't think you'll see the Leafs give up their 1st round pick next year, even with a condition.
I would do RNH + Nurse for Trouba + Lowry or begrudgingly trade Draisaitl straight up for Trouba.
Klefbom - Larsson
Sekera - Trouba
Davidson - Gryba
PLEASE ACQUIRE TROUBA, CHIARELLI!
I think the Peg will do ok when they trade him. There are just too many question marks and red flags for them to get top top dollar. Which Trouba will the team get? The rookie or the one of the last 2 years. And his agent would frankly scare me away from any deal that was not absolute highway robbery. I think that may be what hurts his trade value the most.
You know Streit has a NTC* right? Why in the hell would he waive for Winnipeg?

I'm glad you're not Chiarelli.
The Flyers don't have the cap space to sign Trouba unless a player like Mark Streit was going the other way in a trade.
I wonder what amount of salary Jacob Trouba's agent wants a season.
My Guess is somewhere around 6.5-7mil a season for Trouba.
Draisaitl is worth more than Trouba in the next year or so.
If thats actually his ask, which I don't think it is, then I don't know why anyone would trade for him. He's not even worth 6M. Rielly just got 5M and he's a better Dman than Trouba.
Tbh that is a very Chiarelli-like trade. Lose value wise but improves the team.
so what are the Jets needs?
TO ANA: JVR
TO TOR: Trouba
TO WIN: Fowler + Kapanen
Anaheim gets their top line, left shooting LW
Toronto get a RHD to grow with Matthews and Co.
Winnipeg get a young LHD that can play top pairing as well as Kapanen who could end up playing opposite Laine.
Probably but we need that right handed D man over a center at this point.
Adding Larsson and Trouba in the same summer would be the best summer this team has had since Pronger & Peca back in 2005.
To learn how to play with discipline.
Columbus, Edmonton, Arizona, Winnipeg.
Not exactly "desired" NHL destinations now are they (i.e. low salary cap ceiling, poorly managed, lottery teams)? This is with all due respect to their fans and the cities. It's just the way it is.
As a Leafs fan I would offer Gardiner, Kapinen and a 2nd.
How would that trade help the Leafs? Gardiner has been very good under Babcock.
Also well constructed deal.
I think it's more about getting that future top-pair RHD when you can. Trouba probably won't be any better than Gardiner this year but in the long run it's a good investment.
This is pretty well constructed, I think.
