Let's face reality, no one really ever wants to play in Winnepeg.

Yep, that's why Wheeler signed long term when he could have walked, same with Buff, same with Ladd. Scheifele just signed long term. Perreault signed as an FA and re-signed.

You won't be getting any offers much better than that, have fun letting an asset go to waste all year I guess. Even if the Jets don't trade him and just let him sit out, the Oilers win because the Jets are a team the Oilers will be competing with.

Guy who looks like a 3rd pairing guy and a 1st? Easy no thx, the final trade will be much better

Nurse is 21 and isn't anywhere close to looking like an NHL D man. He could still turn it around, but more often then not players his age who struggle as badly as he did last year never amount to much.

Until he actually shows something at the NHL level I have no interest in Nurse

TBH you guys don't really have much leverage if he is demanding a trade. Obviously you'll take the best one available, but some of these trades have been spot on regarding a unsigned Trouba.

Just...so, so false.

Nurse played too high up the depth chart because of the injuries to Edmonton's d.

When he played lower down he actually had some success.

The important thing to note is he is 21 and a work in progress. A first is what makes up the difference.

I would actually prefer something along the lines of trading with Anaheim: Lindholm for Trouba straight up.

The problem with that is unless Trouba is willing to sign a bridge with Anaheim, I don't think Anaheim can afford him.

You know Streit has a NTC* right? Why in the hell would he waive for Winnipeg?

Poverov would be enough without Streit. He is going to be much better than trouba and is strong defensively already. He is great offensively too.

Absolutely it sucks.

Just seems weird to pretend everything is fine and your team is all fine and dandy when there are warning signs all over the place. No shame in saying "we hope he signs here, but it's a real possibility he might leave".

Makes it worse when a trade request becomes public and you look like a dummy for criticizing other posters that suggested he may want out of Winnipeg

I think you'll find that most Jets fans were like myself and questioned the sources.

There was a whole bunch of maybe's and if's and this just happened to be the hour the watch was stuck on. Hell, even Eklund is right once and a while

Gardiner, 2017 1st (top 5 protected), and prospect (B level) so don't chime in it should be Marner, Nylander or Matthews. That is two firsts and likely depth player.

There's not going to be a final trade if you think that's an "easy no". That would be probably the best offer the Jets will get, and if they pass on it, I guess you can just keep him and get nothing for him. Also, Nurse is trending to be a top four player, potentially even top two.

Well Lindholm hasn't demanded a trade first of all and going public with it. And who knows the problems within the contract negotiations you guys had that we will have. So yah no way we are touching that with a 10 foot pole

Trouba won't return Lindholm though. Lindholm is easily the better D.

I think the Peg will do ok when they trade him. There are just too many question marks and red flags for them to get top top dollar. Which Trouba will the team get? The rookie or the one of the last 2 years. And his agent would frankly scare me away from any deal that was not absolute highway robbery. I think that may be what hurts his trade value the most.

Even if both players signed comparable contracts the Ducks still lose this trade

Lol we shall see, that offer is so meh, it will be easy to beat. Time will tell

Just look at all these offers, that one is one of the worse ones to date

I don't think you'll see the Leafs give up their 1st round pick next year, even with a condition.

and Kyle Turris escape Arizona
and Kerby Rychel escape Columbus
and Ryan Johansen escape Columbus
and Riley Nash escape Edmonton

I believe Trouba is Overhardt's 8th player in the last 13 years who has held out into training camp either for money reasons or trying to force a trade.

Columbus, Edmonton, Arizona, Winnipeg.

Not exactly "desired" NHL destinations now are they (i.e. low salary cap ceiling, poorly managed, lottery teams)? This is with all due respect to their fans and the cities. It's just the way it is.

Not only that it sounds like Trouba is being a prima Donna going public wanting to be traded on his first big contract. Lindholm hasn't done that to Anaheim yet

Where there's smoke, there's fire.

The warning signs were there, even if they were "questionable"

There was never a need to say "nope, no, no chance trouba leaves Winnipeg" like the majority of jets fans proclaimed

I assume you're talking about the past ownership in Edmonton? Our owner will spend to the cap easy.

But there's constantly smoke. There's so much smoke that turns out to be nothing.
