I don't understand why Philly which could use cap space would trade Provorov on an ELC or another dman for Trouba. I can understand a team with a lack of young dmen prospects doing it possibly but not the Flyers.

I don't see an offer sheet likely either. Trouba's a case where as another GM, I'm not confident enough in his ability yet to make the offer sheet of $5 M or more and if I'm the Jets, I'd rather wait than pay him that. Bit of a tough case.

Somewhat related to the thread, but Rielly is CURRENTLY not a #1D, nor a #2D. He's a very good #3D right now. He has to get a LOT better defensively still to be in the top-pairing level. Trouba as well, he's a high-end #3D just like Rielly.

I just like Rielly's upside more than Troubas.

I love Rielly's skating, both are great young D. I like Trouba's physicality. Both have bright futures. Given Trouba's agent and rumors of his off ice behavior, I agree, Rielly would be a safer bet but Trouba has all the ingredients.

Morgan Rielly ended the season 36th in pts on the worst team in the league. A team that ranked 28th in GF. Trouba ranked 74th on a team that ranked 21st in GF. I've already explained above how Trouba is a #3 on the cusp of being a first pairing d-man.

Please explain to us how a guy who was 36th in the league in pts tied with Ekblad for pts and doing so from a team that is 28th in GF with no remotely good d-man paired with him is somehow not a 1st pairing guy? I'm by no means a Rielly fan but the facts speak for themselves. He's easily in the 30-60 range even if you want to blame his -17 on him, which if you look at his team you shouldn't be.

He's on the high end of a #2 potentially even low end of a #1 currently, just like Trouba is the tier below that being the high end of a #3, potentially even low end of a #2.

You don't say.
Hmmm-Some hater on the 'net, or GMs and coaches in Hockey Canada.

You obviously don't see what they do.
Plus I know you can't stop, but this thread is about Trouba, not to veil shots on the Leafs.

Overhardt's statement, along with Trouba's really sets a bad tone for any possibility of returning. Overhardt is a pos.

Why? Yakupov is worth 0, Jets have no room for him anyway. Reinhart looks like a decent AHL player.

How about a good old 3 way? JVR to Anaheim, Cam Fowler to the Peg, and Trouba to Toronto. Addresses each teams needs, although for TML they're giving up their only proven scoring winger.

The only thing of any interest is the 1st round pick.

Reinhart is too green to be of any help and the Jets don't need Yakupov.

If the Jets are trading Trouba to Edmonton, Klefbom (depending on health) or Nurse (with a plus) is most likely coming back.

Trouba for Draisitle
Zero chance. I value Draisaitl more and the Oilers can't afford to send an ELC for a client of Overhardt. He's also the mastermind behind recent holdouts Turris, Dubinsky, and Johansen

No, the Jets don't run with that, the Oilers first won't high pick because they won't be bad and the other 2 are not good.

You guys get a good defenseman back a first round pick and a winger. What else are you expecting better than that for an unsigned Trouba?? Like really jets fans?

He requested the trade 5 months ago?

I thought jets fans have been telling us for months on here that it was a fact he wanted to stay in Winnipeg?
