Lonnie I’ve only been involved in hockey playing, coaching, running learn to skate and attending 1800-2000 Bruins games live

I find expect to know as much as you

Hockey is my third sport only because I’m even better at baseball & football

It’s a gift someone should be this awesome
I’m not questioning your knowledge even though hockey is your third sport. I’m questioning your apologist behavior whenever Sweeney f***s up. :naughty:

I don't even care about Frederic's fighting. It's his inability to hit.

We've got arguably the toughest guy in the league on the 4th line. Pressure will be off Frederic to fight. That said, I'm sure Lucic will show him a thing or two.
I don't really care about his fighting or his hitting. I like how many turnovers he creates off the forecheck with his stick in lanes and I want to see him continue to develop a puck possession game in the offensive zone.

I fully understand and appreciate the fact that professional sports athletes are always wildly overpaid. What I meant specifically is bottom 6 guys (whom by definition are JAGs and easily replaceable), are now cashing in. It's insane. I personally would never overpay for a guy like Freddy and he's getting $900K per year more than he really should be. Giving him that extra money doesn't make him $900K better either, it just means you overpaid.
That’s a pretty harsh assessment. I like freddy

I’d like to see him add physicality in a top 9 role because come April, that’s still something this team has lacked, and lacked for a very long time. They’re remarkably easy to plan for come playoff time.

his salary isn't really handcuffing us so I'm ok with it, he best show up though and be consistent as his next step of progress or he'll be the JAG many think he is

I agree it’s lacking on this team but Frederic has never been a high energy hitter. Asking or expecting it to happen now in his mid 20’s is asking for something he’s not. Blood from a stone. Same as Coyle, Geekie, Zacha…

I’d like to see if Greer has another level to his game. He’s a high energy hitter.

Sweens crushing the summer

T-Fred at $2.3 M this year very good but two years

Yowza.
Yup. Signing Patrick Brown, trading away Taylor Hall for Ian Mitchell, and re-signing his own RFA at a price more than 58% of fans in this poll predicted totally equals crushing it!

Sure wish someone would have gotten their ass kicked going to stand up for Tomas Nosek getting his family shit on by Tkachuk and Lomberg
Yep. Frederic had a front seat for that, did squat, with 8 total hits in 5 games to boot. But what is soft?

Hopefully Lucic will put him in front of a mirror and teach him a thing or two about physicality and being mean.

Minor overpayment, not gross, but the only way he's around 17 this year is if he scores PP time, it would not surprize me to see him play the Foligno role on unit #2.

You know you had me thinking

I’m to optimistic

This place has to many sad down depressed people so I figured I’d try and lift them from their humdrum lives by pumping the Bruins up

I do this each July thru camp about the time Don Godfather runs out of steam

I looked back oner last 3 summers here last night and was surprised I’m not doing a good job I’m not giving team enough props

2022-23 summer DKH Bruins 110-120 points Actual 135

2021-22 summer DKH Bruins 109-105 points
Actual 107

2020-21 summer DKH Bruins 100 points
Actual 108

Yesterday I posted take the under in Vegas 101

Folks I need to be better and will among the Debbie Downers like @LSCII & @Dr Quincy

As for the 58% fans poll - BWAHAHAHAH

A little higher than desired, but really doesn’t matter if they just go with a 22 player roster

I was at all home games so wasn’t really focued on Trent games 1 and 2 but I taped and kept 3 and 4 and last month was rewatching some of the Bruins - Florida games and sadly I found out 58% people didn’t watch Frederic or more likely know what they are watching

Games 3 and 4 were basically it for him as he was pretty much done after that

He played a lot of center they won by combined 10-4 he played well actually game 3 very well

Maybe if I didn’t rewatch I or didn’t know what I was watching I would think differently

Sure is a weird way to take those poll results....almost 85% predicted 2 to 2.5 mil. The 58% were off by 300k....

Not really. 58% were over 41% were under. Nothing weird about that. Yes, 86% were right around the number. Meaning Frederic got about what people were expecing. More thought a little less. Fewer thought a littler more.

What's weird is 85% saying this is about what he'll get, and then him getting that as a number, and someone saying "YWZER SWEENS CRUSHES IT!!"

It's like if I go to the car dearl and pay the sticker price and proclaiming myself a master negotiator. Fair deal all around. Not a crushable moment for anyone.

Fair enough, I read the tone of your post a bit wrong there, but yeah I wouldn't say signing him exactly for what we expected is crushing it.

2.3 million seems fair. He’s the type of guy that if he wasn’t a Bruin everyone on these boards would want him here for that price.

Questioning is playoff performance or lack thereof is completely fair though.

Definitely his biggest room for improvement next season - if they make it to the playoffs he needs to do something more than he has thus far.

Hitting wise, Cal Clutterbuck he ain’t.

And you’re spot on, that’s not changing. To expect that is not realistic, and that element will need to come from other sources. Greer can play that role (then get beat up, lol).
