Just getting in. Someone please fill me in on what to panic about.

Nothing really, it’s September hockey. A few pucks trickled in and we got a little rattled and gave away a couple too, but overall we have been the better team and everyone are looking pretty good.

Especially Henriksson, Reunanen and Fox have been outstanding.

Shesty for most parts have been very solid too. But there was what 10-15 minutes when it seemed like he couldn’t buy a save, but it happens to everyone.

Not at all how I saw it

Well, some flashes from the main skater prospects, a bit of a disappointing game from Shesterkin, but probably about what to expect from the forwards all things considered. Hopefully Kakko plays in the next game

Good to see Columbus play that same hard forechecking style

Shestyorkin hasn’t been a backup, but expecting a goalie to instantly be comfortable with the angles of a different ice surface behind a team that hasn’t practiced while they haven’t played a game in over 3-4 months is a huge ask

Fair enough, but he hasn’t been the starter either.

Just had the feeling of a game the guys thought they could just show up and pick up the win.

I think you might have been expecting too much out of the team considering half of the forwards are random invites and the lines were pretty much just cycled through rather than leaning on the 1st line etc

I thought Henriksson was our best forward

Hands down, I wonder if they are considering HFD for him. I am not not that keen on having him in Swedish juniors... Or maybe its not the worst option. Its worse to have him on some 4th line somewhere.

Rykov reminds me of a young Staal.

This tournament is good for guys like Keane, Rykov, Kravtsov and the likes.

For the Euros its the smaller ice, but also for everyone playing at a little higher level and faster pace. You get that little higher tempo NA game. The take away is that you must be on your toes from the time the puck is dropped and battle every second. There are big openings, a lot of open ice, D's that can be caught flat footed and what not. But you need to go and get it and be a part of a unit that doesn't give away anything.

Everyone can forecheck and backcheck and handle 1 on 1s with or without the puck and move it in traffic -- but what differs when you go to NA or as a skilled player up from juniors is just how much you must be on your toes and take what you get to you. Kravy will remember that time he had the puck all alone in the middle of the attacking zone and passed it into the corner when he goes to bed tonight. Those situations comes much faster and disappear much faster, in the NA or for the juniors from the CHL, at this level. Couldn't have asked for a better lesson than that for him.

We need to forget this one and go on to the next. I'm thinking Igor would like at least 3 of the goals back. His angles were off some times. Wouldn't be the first goalie to get off to an inauspicious start. The team overall was sloppy though. Columbus's power play 6th goal was a case in point. The D in the left corner tried to clear it straight up the slot and put it right on the goal scorer's stick. That was a f***ed up play. Columbus was better around their goalie who was better than our goalie.

If I’m not mistaken their goalie is expected to be their NHL starter this season (unless the other one played today)

Reunanen was a pleasant surprise for me. He is more advanced than I would have expected. Fox was what I expected (save for the hideous giveaway) He looks to be NHL ready. Otherwise, not a lot to write home about.
NO. UNACCEPTABLE.

REWRITE THIS BUT WITH MORE OVER THE TOP REACTIONS TO A PROSPECT TOURNEY GAME.

Yeah Reunanen was solid, Rykov seemed OK to me as well. Didn't stand out exactly but not in a bad way.
