It’s a Kravtsov love-boner not a Kakko hate-boner
I’ll bet you Kravtsov outscores Kakko

I'd like to place a wager on their 22/23 year old seasons. Kravs numbers this year versus Kakkos next year.

Also 'Kravtsov love boner' has got to be your new username.

Hope you're well! he has looked pretty good, scored his signature tap-in in one of the scrimmages, scored in the shootout too. Vince said the kid line was the second best line in camp behind the Panarin-Trocheck-Kravtsov line

Anything in particular that you can share?

Leaving us with that ambiguous comment is just not fair

Like what?
Sorry for the delayed response. 7 month old baby has been kicking my ass lately

Sam basically said that this is kravs last shot here. He’s either got to put up or shut up. If he doesn’t make the rangers top 9 he will get traded. Sam also said that the rangers aren’t sure what they are going to get out of him at this point. He said he hasn’t exactly been a dominate can’t miss superstar in Russia. He also agreed with most of us last year had he sucked it up and stayed he would have been back with the rangers in 2 weeks.

He did also add he thinks he has the ability to stick but his demeanor will be an interesting storyline as the season plays out.

The Rangers will have 14 forwards in this scenario

Zibanejad
Panarin
Kreider
Trocheck
Lafreniere
Kakko
Chytil
Kravtsov
Blais
Goodrow
Reaves
Carpenter
Hunt
Vesey

The Rangers will keep 13 forwards.
The decision on who to cut from that list is so easy.

Who has been in the league for 7 years and has less career goals than Lafreniere.

Reaves, Carpenter, Hunt and Vesey

NYR brass targeted Blais. They drafted guys that while more skilled, play a similarly styled heavier game

They extend him long before they trade him or let him walk as a UFA

I was referring to Carpenter.

He's a center that doesn't win faceoffs at a high enough rate to offset the complete lack of production. I don't think he does anything exceedingly well. His possession numbers look bad.

Reaves, at least is a physical guy and can provide a boost in moral. He's a good guy to have around.

Hunt, as long as he's not being force-fed into the top 6, would be a decent 4th liner.

Vesey, I've been on board with signing him, as I believe he is an upgrade to the 4th line.

Carpenter... I get he's a "center" but that's not a reason to make room for him. He's a Gallant guy that's the only reason, and it's not a good reason.

Will another team claim Carpenter on waivers?

Goodrow would center the 4th line in that scenario.

Carpenter and Hunt are not NHL players. Why can’t the Rangers had a 4th line of kids that have potential to be 3rd and 4th liners? they did with the HMO line of Hollweg Moore and Orr. can’t the Rangers find the next Dom Moore in the draft so scrubs like Carpenter are not signed. Rangers should be able to draft and develop their own bottom 6 guys. They did this in the past.

Which of Hollweg or Orr had the potential to be a third liner exactly? They scored a combined 17 goals in 705 games.

I've seen some of your posts about Blais and assumed it was him you were referring to.

I'm sure you can appreciate assumption. Lol

Unfortunately Kreider and zib aren't being separated until at least December if at all.

Haven't heard many reports on otter, how is he doing in camp? Just okay? Standing out at all one way or the other?
Camp is really hard to evaluate players. You typically start seeing things like laziness and stamina issues during actual pre-season games when the intensity goes up. Krav mentioned stamina in his media availability. That better be long gone for him when the season starts. But I don't expect 2 players (Kreider and Zibanejad) to have much success in camp when most of their play is creating chances off the rush and no real sustained pressure. They aren't battling hard on the boards to keep zone pressure. I still don't know how I feel about Blias on that line but if he can cycle and maintain possession for them in the o-zone, I guess I'll be all for it.

Forget Kane, Pavelski is the rental I'd be interested in.

Say hello to 30% powerplay
Do they both just stand in the front of the net saying "Pick a direction and shoot wide" ?

I'm confused why you think Carpenter would be the guy? It's far more likely the team values having another center on the roster than a winger, specifically when you think about potential call-up options in Hartford:
Brodzinski
Trivigno
Gettinger
Cuylle
Pajuniemi
Rydahl

I would say that maybe Rydahl is the only center on this list at the NHL level and that's a big maybe at this point.

If we look at someone like Kevin Rooney over the last 2 years:

20-21
14p in 54 games
45% FO
12:21 avg TOI
-3.4 CF% at ES

21-22
12p in 61 games
44.8% FO
13:51 avg TOI
-10.8 CF% ES

And now we look at Carpenter
20-21
5 points in 40 games
48.4% FO
12:41 avg TOI
6.6 CF% ES

21-11
12p in 67 games
51.5% FO
12:35 TOI
0.2 CF% ES

I believe 2020-2021 was an injury filled season for Carpenter in general, hence the lower amount of games plated and hit on his point totals and FO% (he only took ~130 faceoffs total that season which is very odd). I believe it was an upper body injury but could be mistaken.

In saying that, it sure seems like Drury found a better version of Kevin Rooney for less money and a good 12/13 forward
