Is Welinski a prospect? Anybody have some intel on him?
Vet RD for Pack
or NYR emergencies,
figure they knew Nils was outbound
The other NYR RD pro prospects, Skinner, Emberson are ~2nd yr pros
(Martin, Giutarri are a bit older and experienced, but on AHL/'Pack contracts

Emergency #8 option

If Blais is taking time to get back to speed- that could be the opening for the 9 game trial for Brennan Othmann on the change he impresses.

Could do Blais on the 4th for those 9 games then promote him when Othmann is returned.

Why not let Othmaan do the ohl from the start then get a look at years end ?

Let's assume Kravtsov and Jones make the team. Hajek is the 7th dman and Robertson gets sent down.

We'll need to waive one forward to get down to a 22 man roster. Let's assume it's Hunt. If we then have Othmann on the team for 9 games, we will only have $1,864 in cap space. We know Drury wants to save as much cap as he can for the trade deadline, so it's unlikely that he'll go with a 23 man roster. That means we would need to waive someone else to give Othmann his 9 games. Which player do you want to potentially lose to give him those games?

Gauthier hasn't put it together, but he's got tools that would make him attractive to other teams. Maybe Carpenter doesn't get picked up, but who knows. He's cheap and may be a better 4th line option for some team.

Is it worth potentially losing a depth player just to give Othmann 9 games? I don't think so, and I don't think Drury will either. If he's good enough that we plan to keep him all year, then fine, but it's not worth the risk otherwise. He'll probably be among the last cuts, but I seriously doubt he's on the team for opening night.

I don't view Gauthier as an ideal vet depth piece. Frankly, I'd rather see Gettinger up here in a stopgap 4th line role than Julian. He's not scoring and he doesn't play defense. That's useless.

Drury is waiting for a team to meet his asking price.

good to know that the tradition of inaudible interviewers questions is upheld religiously

as well as Bread's interpreter ineptitude
dude, I've long wanted out of where I am and I'm pretty sure I could do a better job. Gizza job.

Othmann for 9 NHL games, IMHO, ain't no way gonna happen.
If he were an unstoppable star, at WJC, he wouldnt have rotated, often, to bottom six
You can undervaiue the depth guys, but teams can lose like 3 Fs, in like 3 games, and then those guys matter to your season
I love Othmann's upside but dont feel the same urgency, to accelerate him, that many do...

I could be wrong, but I’m expecting Gauthier to be traded for a late round pick somewhere before the season starts.

I’m also expecting Drury to grab someone from the waiver wire. Not sure if it will be a forward or defenseman yet. Much of this relies on how Robertson and Jones look. Sending both of those guys down to the AHL to start the season and rolling with a Hajek/New player 6/7 may be a good strategy to add a depth defenseman.

Laff was 7th in even strength ice time in the playoffs both overall and per game average.

Three players who had more, Strome, Copp, Vatrano are gone. Even with Trocheck added, plus Blias should he take over a big chunk of minutes, there is still some extra even ice time available.

Then there is Goodrow, who knows, he may not play as much as he did last year. Plus Motte who played like 10 per, yet if the 4th liners play less this year that too could be some ice time for others.

W Vesey, Rydahl in camp, and current ##s up front, i doubt they claim an F unless a gem, or a FO whiz, is exposed

I do agree they'd claim a D who they thought could be good partner for Schneider, and worthy asset overall

Why are the top 3 lines broken up? Shouldn't they be trying to build chemistry?
They better not take Kravy off of Breads line 😡
Or maybe it's to get extended looks at certain players? I don't really remember how this usually goes

In any case, tomorrow we see The Chosen One suit up in Rangers blue at the Garden 😍😍😍

Group B is Tuesday's game I guess. I assume most of the players from group C won't see a preseason game aside from maybe 2-3 and the rest will be the next set of cuts.

Gallant said in the presser that these early preseason games aren't going to be the lines, that he has his lines in mind already. So the hope for Krav on Panarin's line is still alive
