I hope both Othmann and Sykora play on Monday vs the Islanders. Give them some ice time vs a rival team would be good especially for the style of game that they both play.
Ooooh. I like where you’re going with this…

I hope Grubbe gets signed. Needs to be healthy. good prospect
I am not sure. I am confused on what ELC slide and which ones dontHow many roster spots do the rangers have open? I think I heard they’re at 48 of 50 but I’m not (even close to) sure.
Can the Rangers and will they sign him?
I think he’s looking Minnesota, tbh. There's a video of him hitting over 106 on a slap somewhere, in one of these threads.
There have been camp tweets about his wrister being harder.
Things are coming along publicly, pubicly and privately all at once. He's looking California, and feeling... California.
Panarin is welcome to stay on the perimeter most of the time as long asevery single one of these clips if you watch and follow panarin he is staying outside the dots. vinny and vk are cutting and swarming through the slot depending which side the puck shifts to, but panarin is glued to the exterior. get ready for more of the same garbage that we saw from him in the playoffs if this is what he is doing at training camp with his teammates and no significant risk of contact. 11.6m powerplay specialist coming in short order...
In the words of Frank the tank in old school: I like you man. But you’re crazy.Imagine telling someone last year that Kravtsov was not only still a Ranger but that he's starting the season on Panarin's line
I've been proven right after being ridiculed this whole time, just wait. Next stop the Calder, after that 150pts. Imagine if he does actually become the greatest player of all time.. I'm going to look like Nostradamus around here pretty soon.
The Redemption Arc begins.

I’m cool with Hajek too. But I want him to be the 7D. There will be plenty of opportunity for the 7D to play. I’d like to see Jones get a starting spot, ideally with Trouba but it seems like GG isn’t entertaining break up the Top Four pairings.I’m gonna put myself on a limb here and throw some major support in Hajek’s direction.
Like I said he’s paid his dues and I’m rooting for him to make the club out of camp and have a good season. I’m not gonna be one of those fans who instantly writes off a player, just because.
I also don’t think he’s as bad as he is made out to be. He’s another young Ranger we should all hope takes the next step. I think he can be a good player and fit for this team if he can get into a good stretch of games
I’m a Jones fan too - really loved his camp last year - but I don’t think it’s a foregone conclusion he’s the 6th man. We’ll see how it shakes out but whether I eat crow or not I’d like to see Hajek succeed
If somehow Hajek plays up to his physical talents he's a potential top 4 D. The problem is he hasnt been close to that.I’m cool with Hajek too. But I want him to be the 7D. He seems to be using his body to shield the puck and maintain possession. Like a post up in basketball. Which is exactly what he should be doing. Like Larry Johnson before his back went out.In the videos I’ve seen Kakko looks like a man possessed.
I think both he & Howden got disproportionately over the top hate because of being involved in the McDonagh trade.I will reiterate what I've said forever which is that Hajek can totally still become a steady #6. I still don't believe it will ultimately be here, but it's a realistic projection for him.
From your lips...Maybe I’m being too optimistic but I feel like Kakko, Kravtsov, Lafreniere, Chytil…all of them look to be in a pretty good place. They’ve been through some growing pains but i sense that they’re all poised to take big steps forward.
A player with a galaxy brain that allows him to transcend his lack of physical gifts and a player with perhaps the best physical gifts in the league, could be magic. Lindgren & Fox go way back so I don’t see it happening thoughI wish theyd try Miller and Fox together. I think that could be a revolutionary defensive pair.
I’m trying to @ Gallant. Does anyone know his HF handle? Is it @Tob ?? I need to make Fox-Miller happen.A player with a galaxy brain that allows him to transcend his lack of physical gifts and a player with perhaps the best physical gifts in the league, could be magic. Agreed. Panarin can be effective if one of Tro or Krav play in the danger areas. Strome wouldn't, and Hunt didn't have the skill to go with the willingness.I think he’s looking Minnesota, tbh.
Panarin is welcome to stay on the perimeter most of the time as long as
1) he occasionally takes it to the rack and
2) his linemates are not afraid of the middle.
Totally. Though I think hunt was basically willing to go to the net. But he isn’t skilled enough to draw much attention and isn’t powerful enough to wreak havoc.Agreed. You a big ground and pound, small ball, midrange jumper guy?I think I’d rather hear about the royal funeral than the royal road.
In addition, Goodrow can play somewhere in the top 9 and I am not worried wherever he ends up. I think Gallant likes the lineup best with him as 4C, but judging from last year, has no problem moving him up. It makes way too much sense to see if Blais can hang in the top 9 now. If he can, even better. If not, Goodrow can be there later when he is healthy.I'm not worried. Kakko will be in that spot when Blais inevitably gets injured or takes a couple of really bad penalties.
That's the issue, point 1, he isn't doing that and hasn't for basically a year. That is literally what I am saying and people keep trying to dismiss. He has to show a willingness to occasionally attack the house. He can't just stay outside the dots all the time.I think he’s looking Minnesota, tbh.

This i would like to see bc if he can establish an NHL quality shot then his game may well open up a bit more. If teams and goalies don't have to respect your shot it's hard to excel offensively. There s video of his wrister this year in camp on at least one of the threads on this board. Petty lethal. Your prayers have been answered!
The issue is they tried to have laffy run pp2 last year but to put him on the right halfwall. He looked so uncomfortable there. Kept fuming picks and often times would panic with pressure and just turn facing the boards to protect the puck like it was 5v5 play. Part of that is the other guys on the unit with him had no idea what they were doing. Chytil currently has no business being on any pp unit (sorry that will make people mad but it's the same people that said for 2-3 years chytil was about to bust out and was a 2c, he isn't). If Vinny is going to pp1 then pp2 needs to be built and thought out more by the coaching staff than just tossing the leftovers together. That's more or less what they did since pp1 usually rane 90 seconds of each pp. There needs to be a viable second unit going forward and ideally one that has a different look/structure than pp1. To this end let laffy switch to the side he has been more comfortable with to run the pp. I don't understand Vinny on pp1 at all. As crazy as it may sound the guy that makes the most sense is kravtsov in the bumper spot if panarin is going to continue to run things on the right wall. Kravtsov has played that bumper area for awhile in the khl with success and it would allow Vinny to drop to pp2 and help that unit by being a net area guy that can win a draw.i definitely want laf running pp2. he was filthy in juniors playing up high on the left. watch him at the world juniors using the space that spot creates to walk down and wire seeds/whip crisp cross ice passes on the tape - hes got phenomenal vision and hes one of the better players ive seen at using deception to open up lanes. hes nasty at both selling shot and looking off. get him in that spot with krav on the opposite dot wound up past noon...ideally jones would be roaming the blue line, guessing itll be trouba, although with laf being a lefty kandre makes more sense as a shot option....only problem is his only real issues are a tendency to grenade perfect passes and leave pucks behind at times which could be a real liability if still happening too regularly. allow kakko to roam the goal line, below and popping out underneath the hash marks curling for a shot / backdoor pass/ as a backdoor option. i dont really care whos in front...maybe blais, chytil, coould be reaves for all i care - just get in the way, be physical on loose pucks, and keep their stick on the ice with a heavy bottom hand..cant be grenading or not ready for hard passes backdoor with empty nets staring at them
