Not gonnna lie, emotionally i hate losing Brooks. Been rooting for hin for 5 years, sucks to lose him when he's right on the cusp of being (imo) an everyday nhler for the next few years.

That being said, on this day he's pretty interchangeable in the 12-15 spot in this lineup

Both are skilled, with poor skating, but Amadio has good size while Brooks is a midget.

Also, Amadio massively outproduced Brooks in the AHL and has far more NHL experience.

Looks like Zeke found a 3rd option which IMO seems to be a bit more fair than calling people super fan boys for wanting to have more options than brooks is better case closed. Zeke I just agreed with you, I feel dirty now..... ;)

Wow on Brooks, he really grew on me last year. I thought he was a warm body but really started to show some things. Another guy walks for nothing, that’s a shame he had progressed with us.

The Habs 1C would be our 3C. Their best player is (Suzuki/Toffoli) is our 5th. Our bottom six has the most productive player between both teams (Spezza). The habs picking out #5-6 center shows that they aren’t deeper. Anyone who thinks that is just delusional

They have a better (or at least more proven) top 9 LW group (if you include the injured Hoffman; without him it is just their top 6 LW group is better) and a better 3rd line RW. The gap between those areas are significantly smaller than our strong areas, like top 6 RW and C, and on defense.

The problem they have is their center group is seriously lacking and without Weber and Price, I am not sure they really have anything on defense or in net to worry about besides Petry.

In our division and with some of those key guys missing, I am not even sure they are a bubble team this year. Barring any major surprises, they are the 5th or 6th best team in our division alongside Ottawa, and could possibly end up as a bottom 10 team this year.

...and like I posted before anyone hit waivers, Amadio then throws up these numbers in the pre-season (and looked great doing it):

Out of the 582 forwards to play at least 20 5v5 minutes in the pre-season:

TOI: 41:16

CF%: 76.80 (3rd out of 582)
SF%: 88.13: (1st out of 582)
xGF%: 83.29 (1st out of 582)
GF%: 100.00 (3-0)

....and people are surprised he made the team? Looking at the history/stats you posted, we all should have been pretty outraged if he didnt make the team. What else could he have done to earn a 4th line/extra spot really?
Score maybe……

Amadio would have cleared. Brooks has more upside.

Team brass disagrees with you. So do I.

Similar players, one can PK a bit in Amadio and one has 173 NHL games under his belt where Brooks has but 18 games played.
Both guys 25 years old.
Neither player is going to move the needle so no biggie either way.

Brooks should get a chance to play on the donuts. The team built without centres.

I got Bozak vibes from Brooks, in a good way. It’s a shame to lose him but I don’t think it will hurt the team. The only thing that will hurt is if he pulls a Connor Brown.

Great news, another guy walked in for nothing that was considered better in Amadio.

Score maybe……

He had a goal and three points. Brooks had a single assist.

Brooks also had 0 points, 1 goal allowed, one penalty and one giveaway as his stats in the playoffs last year. With depth players being such an issue the last two years, I like seeing turnover, especially when its earned.

I’ll bet team brass is pretty unhappy right now.
