I am one of biggest Leaf supporters there are .. every year $250K between seats and sponsorships but not sponsoring this season as not sure who will see ads in rinks .. and I played hockey with Marlies, OHL and IHL for 25+ years .. I know my hockey and forgotten more than most ever knew .. this teams core has many issues which has caused all these meltdowns over past 5 years .. but there will always be some who blame others around core .. bottom line until Shanny/Dubie combo are changed up this will continue on .. and I know Shanny's bro/family from our past as kids thru junior pretty well with both us us growing up on same street in Mimico in fact I saw Brian quite recently .. those crazy days with family fights in schoolyard would never be allowed today .. but back then even da cops stopped to watch us fight .. Shanny has gone da way of da analytics clearly so sad .. he needs to change course and go to his roots

I don’t care or frankly believe all these claims you have of who you know or how much money spend on the Leafs. and I care even less how much more about hockey you think you know than me. In your opinion, who needs to go...Shanny or Dubas? And, what do you see as the 'core problem'?

No, many of those teams do not advance any further in the playoffs, and only one team each year actually achieves the goal. But you do it, because there's no point to all of this if you refuse to give yourself a chance to win. Our losses from this are wildly overblown, and we've offset them well with UFA gains and good drafting; which is why we have a better team and pipeline than we have had at any point in our competitive era, despite it.

Not so sure I agree with you regarding our pipeline. Aside from Sandin and hopefully Liljegren, and Johnsson who was basically traded for cap space, we have hopefuls in our pipeline. And continually trading away draft picks for rentals, while also letting your own UFAs walk for nothing, eventually catches up to you, thus causing your pipeline to become less dependable.

Yes - that is the same for any team. Hunter's drafts would be the drafts for later round picks to be showing dividends right now (as you mentioned - top 10 picks are going to make the league quickly whereas later round gems are going to take time).

Unfortunately, Hunter prioritized size over skill (size is important as long as there is skill as well) but none of those players seemed to have panned out. Korshkov being the worst miss of the bunch.

And Dubas drafts skill over size, because as he says, you can always trade for size. Problem is, they are only rentals, and we’re trading draft picks for them. That catches up to you sooner rather than later.

You're making a big deal about having 3 picks in the last draft but ignoring that they made 13 the year before.

I don’t believe I said it was weak. I said they are unproven, just like any other team’s draft picks. And I said who has come up through the pipeline lately, and I mentioned a few names. It seems like last year and this year we have to hope that some UFAs pan out to fill out our roster, since we have no one in the pipeline to do it.
