Yes. I was near the faceoff circle, 13 rows up. He lost everyone taken near me. I think he will be fine. I saw Shore several times at DU.
I am very impressed that he has taken this step and was one of the best players on the ice tonight.

Schulz = Scuderi?? OMG! Scuderi is one of the most solid defenseman in the NHL...consistent, very few gaffes, and always dependable. That said, I wouldn't have given him 4 yrs at the age of 34. BUT Schulz is lightyears from Scuderi. I actually cannot think of a defenseman on the Kings in the last decade that was worse.[/QUOTE]

Randy Jones, Modry ?

All I know is that the kings focus on the next first round pick should be a defenseman we don't have any stand outs beside gravel

Looks like former Kings prospect Jeff Zatkoff will be getting his NHL chance after a great season last year since Penguins backup Tomas Vokoun is out indefinitely with a blood clot issue. Cool.

Anyone know what Richards during the offseason. *Did he train a lot? Just wondering because of the bad start last year.

He had 14 points in the first 20 games and finished the season with 32 points in 48. Prorated to a full season, that's 54.6 points. His .67 PPG average put him in the top 40 for centers last season. He did just fine. Maybe you didn't notice but the entire Kings game got off to a slow start this past season.

Good call. Randy Jones. Modry was subpar, but at least had skills and could skate.

This is true, with the other possible exception being Forbort. I hope
he takes his game to the next level in Manch.

Still some hope for Deslauriers, MacDermid, Miller, Roach and even Ebert. But yes, no top 2 guys among them.

Why not just go the FA route? We've done pretty well acquiring likes of Mitchell and Scuds. Besides, who's to say that guys like Gravel, Forbort or Miller won't be ready to be a #2 by the time we draft a dman with our 1st pick next year?

Am I the only one who thinks Forbort will be another Hickey? Yeah he's still young but just have that same feeling I had with Hickey. And I wanna be wrong!

What's wrong with Hickey per se? Yes he never became the top pairing guy you would hope for from 4th overall, but he has established himself as a NHLer and could be a top 4 guy in a year or two (did solid in NYI top 4 last year in spot duty paired with Visnovsky). Honestly at this point I'd be happy with that for Forbort right now. I know it's not playing styles since they do not play the same at all.

Defenseman naturally take longer to develop. Defenseman like Forbort who rely on positioning, foot speed, and defensive zone reads take even longer. He is just coming out of NCAA...it will take him a little while to find the speed of the game in the AHL. He's only 21. Give it time.

Not many college Dmen step right out of the NCAA into the NHL without a little AHL seasoning first.

Nothing's wrong with him, but that's what I'm saying Forborts never going to develop with us and end up somewhere else. Personally Hickey has played only 39 nhl games and I'm not too quick to say he's established yet. Yes defenseman takes longer to develop but but I'm hoping Forbort will not be another Hickey.

Richards played like **** first 6-7 games. 7 GP, 0+3, -6. He was definitely out of shape, when season started.

I don't care. I said the beginning of the season where he was getting gassed so easily. It wasn't professional at all from him to be in that poor of a form.

Is the 9-game thing still in effect with the new CBA?

If so, I could see Shore earning a spot for 9 games. Would be good for his development. Fraser can pretend to be injured or something like that.

Leaf fan coming in peace. How has tanner pearson looked in camp? Would you guys be open to trading him to the leafs for Franson or no? I liked his game a lot in junior.

Edit: nvm, you guys have like no cap space

Pearson's looking good... DL mentioned he could use another year in the AHL... Translation Brown/Frattin/King/Clifford/Carcillo are all playing LW right now and there's no space for a call up.

I'd be interested in Franson, But yep you are right... the Kings do not have the cap space to even consider it...

Joe Colborne could also be interesting for a 4th line C spot on the kings... Kids young and not progressing as fast as TO had hoped... I could be crasy, but if TO goes to waive him maybe he could be picked up on the cheap thinking like a 4th rounder or something... give him a shot and see if he could hack the 4C position....

I think the Kings have better options to play that 4th C, not sure I see LA taking a flyer on him.

That's only for CHL players. 9 games and then can be returned to the CHL. Shore doesn't have that option.
