You are so annoying with your agenda, man.
Embarrassing and annoying in equal measure
This is exactly what I am talking about. You have no idea what you are watching…

McDavid does anything by glide around.

McKinnon’s not a good defensive player…here is player card from the last 3-years from EH.

mackinnon’s career defensive impact from HZ (positive isn’t good)
he relies on lazy stereotypes to an absurd degree

Ah, thanks. So you're like a three-year old or like a consultant you don't respect yourself. Well done, quality backfire 10/10

"I know stuff"
"Like a 3yr old?"
"Or like a McKinsey"
"So you're like a McKinsey?"
"Well they are not that good"
Applause

Torts cares so much about guys trying to make the team, he can't even bother coaching them in pre-season
He coaches them the last two games, when the AHL players have been sent down and opposing teams are playing NHL players. I think he likes the eye in the sky perspective for the first few games. And to give his assistant coaches a little experience on the bench.

The first four games are more about seeing how players "look," with the caveat that you have to note who they're matched against, As good as Brink looked last night, it's far more important to play like that the last two games (not scoring, that's stochastic, but making things happen at both ends of the ice).

The caveat to all this is we don't know players looked in scrimmages and practices, games are just one input into their decision making. But you can see with most players if they're NHL quality - watching Marody I just didn't see a guy who can skate at a NHL level - unlike say Matt Brown. Doesn't mean Brown will ever make the NHL, just that he has a necessary NHL skill.

It simply means Torts doesn't care about players who are years away from the NHL. He leaves that to Briere. His focus is on the players he'll be potentially coaching this year, not two or three years from now. Why should he care about Bonk until he goes pro? Bonk's game may be very different in 3 years as he fills out, improves his skating and maybe plays a bigger offensive role in the CHL. Torts will worry about Bonk at 21, fighting for a NHL job.

You claim he's running a rebuild, personally.

McKinnon is when he wants to be, see the 2021-22 playoffs.
That team won on defense.
Goalies had .903 Sv%, yet they only gave up 54 goals in 20 games.

McDavid averages 22 minutes a night and has done so the last five years, that's a heckuva workload for a center. I'm sure he "glides" at time - it's just that his acceleration is so good he can turn it on in an instant when he sees an opportunity to make a play.

They won on dominant offense and possession. They completely blew the rest of the playoffs away offensively by a significant margin. How are you always this wrong?

Maybe you can claim Peyton Manning was a mobile QB for your next trick.

Flyers want to see how Brendan f***ing Furry looks with Couturier and TK???? Why do I support moronic team?

Peterson got overpaid off one season with a .911 Sv%.
Signed a three year extension the following September starting the next season.
Then went south the next two seasons.

If he can bounce back, there will be a market with money retained/bad contract coming back.
A bit of a long shot, but teams do like veteran backups.

For a guy who says he doesn't judge off preseason games, I'd say your judging Peterson pretty hard after that one...

Furry - Couturier - Konecny
Allison - Cates - Tuomaala
Brown - Lacyznski - Atkinson
Lycksell - Gardner - (Tuomaala)

Staal - Walker
Andrae - Ristolainen
Ginning - Attard

Probably the final "evaluation" game before the kids are sent down to LHV training camp (starts tomorrow). Furry may bet some shifts as an older player they may want to look at as an injury recall type. More likely that Lycksell and/or Brown get the majority of shifts with Couts/TK.

Peterson is why HCs hate goalies, looked like shit a couple games ago, then looked like Vezina material last night.
