Sure bring back the entire team, make no changes. resign all the ufa's. Bunch of f***ing morons.

The last thing I want to see if the same trash as last year.

Thornton, Kerfoot, Galchenyuk, Simmonds (Horrible resigning) Dermott, Holl. All absolute trash. Let em go and move on.

1-1.5 on a 1 year prove yourself. He did well. He did everything they asked him to do. They treated him right. Give him a full season and if he does prove himself, look at giving him a raise with some term. He could develop some real chemistry in the top six if given the chance.

I would say he should have a fully buried contract amount, so I would max out at 1 mill.

I'd wait to see what management does leading up to the draft and free agency before making any judgements.

Me too, but I'm very skeptical that there will make any meaningful change on this roster. This team has a ridiculously low bar to measuring success, which is advancing past the first round.

Me, I'm all in for Price with retention. What's lost in all the complaining about the Marner and Matthews not producing last year is that our defence is now very good - both the d-corps and team defence. In the last 3 years, teams have basically said to themselves that if they can shutdown our big boys they have a chance, but turtling doesn't work quite so well with a Price-calibre goalie at the other end, who can win those 1-goal and OT games.

We've already gotten relatively comfortable in tight, low-scoring games. Add a top-notch goalie and to our already strong defence, 1-0 and 2-1 games could be our modus operandi, and suddenly all it takes is one of the big four scoring here and there to win - stopping them from scoring 4 or 5 in a playoff game. Shutting them down completely? Whole nother beast.

Getting Price would be like Colorado getting Roy. TB and TML would essentially be the new DET/COL. In my opinion.

None of this is meant as a shot at Campbell, he's a great 1B and would be able to handle 30-35 games to load-manage Price.

Not interested in bringing Galchenyuk back. Not good enough defensively, not impactful enough offensively, and given his previous gigs on other teams I'd be worried that his effort level he showed last season would not continue.

I don't understand the hate for Kerfoot.

He's our best penalty killer, and is a great versatile 3c who can play on the wing up and down the lineup. Forechecks hard, skates well and can get some points. Was a top 3 forward during the playoffs.

Losing him would be a bigger blow than people like to give credit for.

Simple Answer: He's 5'10" and does not score a ton.

I hope they are protecting Holl because they have someone interested in dealing for him. I'd love to get Oleksiak. Kerfoot out , McCann in would be my ideal result.

He wasn’t our best PKer. He isn’t a center.

He’s a good complimentary winger, but poor cap management means we can’t afford 3.5 million for somebody in that role.

I wonder if Price is on LTIR all year from potential knee and hip injuries, would the Habs go after Fleury.

1 year 7 mill, they could take all the salary. Vegas probably wants to shed a big cap hit and Deboer has already come out and said their goaltending situation wont be the same next year.

Fleury probably accepts a trade to Montreal.

Only obstacle is the owner in Vegas likes Fleury and he's a franchise icon, so maybe they want to move Lehner.

But would be one hell of a story.

Fair enough. I don't think he would need to be buried though. Just save any kind of raise or term till he proves himself with some consistent production. I'm ok with that.

What does being 5'10 have to do with anything, I can overpower almost every 6ft+ guy I have ever met (I'm 5'8") and Kerfoot is in amazing shape compared to many NHLers. The size difference of 5'10 to 6'4 is like one finger long lol... never understood why people get wet dreams over landing a player whos 6ft+ and then go on to call players like Marner a midget when Marner himself is 6 ft tall and Kerfoot is one fingernail away from 6ft.

Dave Keon was 5'9, Ted Lindsay was 5'8, Marcel Dionne was 5'8, Henri Richard 5'7... the list goes on and these guys played in a league where you had to keep your head on a swivel or your career was over.

Also, Brayden Point was one of if not the biggest reasons Tampa just won back to back cups, he's also this so called dreaded 5'10 you talk about.. and that other guy called Kucherov is basically his twin coming in at a pathetic 5'11.. Tampa needs to hurry and trade these guys because they don't match the 6 ft 5" mold of a player that so many clueless hockey fans seem to think is needed to be good in the NHL.

He was pretty bad last year, so I'm not sure how much he has left in the tank. We don't have the cap flexibility to make that gamble.

The 2019 and 2020 Zack Kassian would have helped the Leafs.... 2021 not so much. 2022??
With boy wonder in charge not having cap space is ironically a good thing?

If you're looking for a meathead for the roster you might as well go for a guy like Crouse instead. Younger, cheaper cap hit, more physical.

Kassian is terrible no thanks.
Crouse and his ilk are more than “meatheads” it’s why lots of them were on team’s protected lists.
