If Robertson could break through a bit this year Leafs really just need a top LW and a solid 1b.

Doubtful there will be anything earth shattering. I agree there though.... Low expectations. Better that way if something big actually happens .

I wouldnt put any of those teams as contenders.

Edmonton has proven nothing. Boston is aging and going downhill. NYR havent proven nothing in years. The only team is Florida that has a bright future.

But hey money talks I guess.

My problem is that if his preference is to stay in Toronto, why not sign at discount over 8 years where Toronto is the only team that can pay bonuses as they do. Sign for 7 years front loaded with bonuses for 4.5 a season average.

He doesnt need the money. His endorsements in Toronto being from here are far larger then anywhere else. His money up front can be used in investments sooner which if done correctly (as he and his family have done already) can turn into more then he's willing to sign for elsewhere.

I just dont get why he wouldnt sign back in Toronto. Makes no sense to me. Live in Edmonton? Or Toronto? Win a cup in Edmonton? Or Toronto? No brainer to me considering McDavid will be back in Toronto come a couple of years. Lol

I feel like a one year deal might work for both sides. Leafs because there's cap flexibility in 2022-23 (when we'll be spending more on goaltending), and Foligno gets to give it one more go before returning to Columbus or sucking with Minnesota.

I wasn't aware of your dislike for Mirtle fair enough. I thought you didn't like Dubas so that's why I was saying that.

The pitch fork comment was because everyone who hates Dubas will be like wtf is he doing an hour before freeze.

I do figure this press conference won't tell too much... but if they have any deals coming they're probably already set for after 1. Hopes aren't to high on that though.
