We gave permission, so it allowed. We still own his rights and we are looking to trade them, so we are allowing teams to talk to him to allow for this to happen.

We probably told all of the teams that they need to give us a pick if they want to talk to him and if they come to terms with Hyman, then the deal will go through in the next couple of days.

yes but I thought from the trade freeze to now. Seattle had an exclusive window. Even we couldn’t talk to him. I could be wrong but why would they allow that during the “exclusive window”.

Would a sign and trade give us more in return, or would it work like we are trading his rights?

A 4th would be sweet. Goodrow only got a 7th.

Yeah a mid-round pick like a 4th round pick is usually typical. But if they are going to accommodate for 8 year term, maybe the Leafs can muster a little more. I wouldn't expect much though.

The Oilers are on the verge of signing Hyman to an 8 year deal, they traded for Duncan Keith and will re-sign Mike Smith.

That is... non good.

He was a can’t miss asset when boy wonder acquired him, then suddenly he was garbage once traded. The sheer devotion that Dubas can do no wrong is mind boggling.
Lmao no he wasn’t. There wasn’t one mock line up I’ve seen with him projected anywhere near it.
Stop it.

Generally it's more, simply because we are giving them something of value (the 8th year they want with the player)

It won't be anything crazy still

Oh the sweet irony  take a lap rumman

plus McCann

Apparently we need to go back to grade 2

If you bought a chocolate bar for $1 and a bully stole your chocolate bar, are you out $2?

go read the Kappy trade thread and see for yourself how wonderful a player he was then........

There's nothing contradictory about liking a prospect and at the same time feeling that prospect is worth less than anyone on the current roster.

There's also been a year's worth of development between the Kap trade and now, and Hallander didn't particularly seem to make a lot of strides in terms of development

How about you show some evidence of your outlandish claims instead of me wasting my time looking for a needle in a haystack.
it's all there, your too lazy to look it up and be proven wrong. I know because Walsh 7 said the same damn thing so I did look that thread up and of course it was full of glowing reviews.

Please share some posted line ups from some the regulars around here that prominently featured Hallander… please

not refuting this, just stating he was once touted as highly desirable, now not so much.
