Calling him irreplaceable would be as asinine as saying he was a longshot, neither of which I did
Yeah I dunno, I'd say being one of only five <21 year olds among the top 77 skaters in pts in the SHL pretty impressive, with four of those guys being arguably more highly touted players.
After watching the playoffs, some teams are starting to realize that is better to overpay a bit for heart and soul guys than the Marner types.Goodrow is rumoured to be receiving a 6 year, 3.6 mill contract from the Rangers and is a similar type of player as Tanev. Not my cup of tea, but clearly Seattle is not the only one with the appetite to give/accept those kinds of contracts to those kinds of players.
I thought there was a freeze?
Only on trades and signings, not discussions.
Kenny Holland will probably do 8 x 8.
Almost feel bad for Oil fans.
It's like Pete 2.0
Who did we lose to Vegas who instantly became a blue chip?
Ya that is fair. However it would give JT two speedy wingers/puck carriers to help with transition and allow him to 'get lost' and open himself up for shooting opportunities. I agree that Kerfoot isn't exactly a cycle style player thoughNylander and Kerfoot have chemistry, but Tavares didn't exactly look great with them when the 3 were together.
Nylander is a bit of a chameleon in that he can play different styles so you can play him with Tavares or Kerfoot. Tavares and Kerfoot don't seem to jell. Tavares has a more cycle game which is why he doesnt' need the most talented wingers. Kerfoot is more of an open ice player.
When is Seattle's official roster being released? I really hope they didn't take Price. Don't want Montreal to suddenly have an extra $10.5m in cap space.

Yes I'm not saying he's a top 6 lock, I'd have been very satisfied with a decently skilled 3rd liner with cost control for a couple years, but am fine with agreeing to disagree, especially about Kerfoot vs Hallander & cap flexibility.Still not what I consider excellent. If he was highly touted, it would not be good.
He projects as a bottom 6 guy. He has a good floor, which makes him somewhat attractive, but his upside is not extremely high and what we are saving is worth a lot more than the value he possessed as a prospect.
I thought there was an exclusive UFA window.
5.5 x 8 for Hyman is my prediction
Leafs probably get like a 4th

Yeah but theres probably more pressure on edmonton to give an 8th year to bring down the cap hit a little bit.A 4th would be sweet. Goodrow only got a 7th.
Yeah. I would say 5th or 6th.
Depends on negotiations.
Would a sign and trade give us more in return, or would it work like we are trading his rights?
