Kenny Holland will probably do 8 x 8.

Almost feel bad for Oil fans.

It's like Pete 2.0

Yeah I dunno, I'd say being one of only five <21 year olds among the top 77 skaters in pts in the SHL pretty impressive, with four of those guys being arguably more highly touted players.

Still not what I consider excellent. If he was highly touted, it would not be good.

He projects as a bottom 6 guy. He has a good floor, which makes him somewhat attractive, but his upside is not extremely high and what we are saving is worth a lot more than the value he possessed as a prospect.

Goodrow is rumoured to be receiving a 6 year, 3.6 mill contract from the Rangers and is a similar type of player as Tanev. Not my cup of tea, but clearly Seattle is not the only one with the appetite to give/accept those kinds of contracts to those kinds of players.
After watching the playoffs, some teams are starting to realize that is better to overpay a bit for heart and soul guys than the Marner types.
Those teams might be on to something.

When is Seattle's official roster being released? I really hope they didn't take Price. Don't want Montreal to suddenly have an extra $10.5m in cap space.

Nylander and Kerfoot have chemistry, but Tavares didn't exactly look great with them when the 3 were together.

Nylander is a bit of a chameleon in that he can play different styles so you can play him with Tavares or Kerfoot. Tavares and Kerfoot don't seem to jell. Tavares has a more cycle game which is why he doesnt' need the most talented wingers. Kerfoot is more of an open ice player.
Ya that is fair. However it would give JT two speedy wingers/puck carriers to help with transition and allow him to 'get lost' and open himself up for shooting opportunities. I agree that Kerfoot isn't exactly a cycle style player though

Yes I'm not saying he's a top 6 lock, I'd have been very satisfied with a decently skilled 3rd liner with cost control for a couple years, but am fine with agreeing to disagree, especially about Kerfoot vs Hallander & cap flexibility.

I thought there was an exclusive UFA window.

We gave permission, so it allowed. We still own his rights and we are looking to trade them, so we are allowing teams to talk to him to allow for this to happen.

We probably told all of the teams that they need to give us a pick if they want to talk to him and if they come to terms with Hyman, then the deal will go through in the next couple of days.

Would a sign and trade give us more in return, or would it work like we are trading his rights?

A gm giving hyman 8 years is a classic "I wont be here to see it through" move.

Friedman says Leafs have offered him 8 years at a lower AAV.

Dubas might only get through the first year of that contract.
