Maybe he’s going to load up on some more grit, the fanbase wants more grit.Really hope Dubas has something planned for the off season. His job depends on it. I'm not liking the start.

They're very poor without Muzzin though.
Hell, we should really wonder what else Muzzin could provide to us if he wasn't weighed down by the anchor that is Holl, because it really does look like Holl is barely NHL caliber without him as the numbers show.
We have those players AND Holl. Sounds like this is good then? If Holl craps the bed as you seem to think he will do, we have the players to replace him and put Holl in a more favourable position. Depth is good.
For a guy who has a career high 29 points I'd say his contract isn't the greatest. Seattle obviously took him because of the way he plays and if they have to they can easily retain 50% on that salary and move him to damn near every team in the league.
You can't hand Lily a spot in the top 6 without having a solid option behind him. If Lily fails like Lehtonen did, we'd be up shitt's creek without a paddle. God help us on the RS if Brodie were to go down.

I am sure there will be some depth options available and signed as contingency. At some point, Liljegren needs to be given a chance over more than a game or two. Can't know what you have while on the bench. He's earned it.
Nah Bertuzzi isn’t worn out enough to go after even with his questionable back. The fan base is calling for a Tkachuk brother. Dubas countered with Simmonds. LOL. Maybe he acquires Bertuzzi and his back does not do a Foligno.

Funny how irrelevant that stat is when you consider the outcome. The Habs D and goalie let in more goals against that series than the Leafs guys did that series.
Goodrow is rumoured to be receiving a 6 year, 3.6 mill contract from the Rangers and is a similar type of player as Tanev. Not my cup of tea, but clearly Seattle is not the only one with the appetite to give/accept those kinds of contracts to those kinds of players.

how is nobody even discussing a potential taylor hall deal for 4 years at 6 AAV with the Bruins in the atlantic division.
seriously!
Everyone here wants to shit on Dubas for trading for McCann then having him selected making our XD loss Hallander + 7th are ignoring the other side of this coin. Hextall and Burke just lost two quality roster players in the XD trying to outsmart others. Dumbass Dubas lost none.
They lost one like every other team and gained a player and a pick in a trade.Ding ding ding

If you net it out, Leafs lost two players and a pick. Pens lost a player and gained a pick.
Both Muzzin and Holl's number improve with the other. That pairing has chemistry and does very well together, a perfect example of the sum of its parts being more than each on their own.
Willie looks much better with faster players. His game at its best doesn't seem like a good fit with Tavares but since it looks like we are running it back I fully expect to see him stapled to Johnny pajamas wing and Marner to Matthews.Nylander and Kerfoot have chemistry, but Tavares didn't exactly look great with them when the 3 were together.
Nylander is a bit of a chameleon in that he can play different styles so you can play him with Tavares or Kerfoot. Tavares and Kerfoot don't seem to jell. Tavares has a more cycle game which is why he doesnt' need the most talented wingers. Kerfoot is more of an open ice player.
Leafs lost a roster player as well.If you net it out the Leafs lost a long shot prospect and a 7th. The Pens lost two roster players and gained above noted assets.
