Thornton SHOULD be the odd man out of the lineup, but it’ll probably be Engvall or Kerfoot via trade.

If we can upgrade on Dermott on the backend, that would be fantastic as well.

Galy's played well but they need a few more games to see if he's "the guy" or not for that 2LW spot. I agree that an upgrade on Dermott would really round out the group right now. Oleksiak would IMO be an absolutely perfect fit.

With Gibson and Hart struggling, I’d try to poach them if I’m Dubas and place Andy on LTIR until playoffs. Then have a ~20 game tryout until playoffs. Have Andy, Campbell and one of those 2 as your 3 goalies heading into playoffs while also having the goaltending position solidified for next season

I want no part of a trade with Boston unless it's for a major steal for a simple low pick.

It's irrational. Whatever. I don't care. I'm probably scarred for life.
I don't see them dumping assets. They'll still make the playoffs, especially with Philly and NYR as the teams chasing, and their games in hand

Doubt Hart is available. Gibson will cost too much and we probably want a cheaper goalie going forward. Even so, there are 21 games left and with 7 day quarantine, that probably leaves you with 16 games if they made the trade today.

If we acquire Gibson, that exposes Campbell in the expansion draft who would 100% be claimed.

Then we’re right back where we were prior to Campbell in needing a quality backup goaltender on top of giving a lot of assets to even acquire Gibson who’s been solid but nothing spectacular these past couple seasons.

I’d pass on that.

Are you sure there will not be better options for Seattle than Campbell ?? Personally if we acquired a quality #1 goalie, it would not bother me to lose Campbell instead of a defenceman.

I wouldn't worry about Campbell getting claimed. The Leafs have a lot of other guys to offer Seattle that other teams can't match (Kerfoot, Holl/Dermott, etc.) that they likely don't look at goalie. Whereas for teams like Arizona right now, goalie is the only good thing they have to offer (Hill/Kuemper).

If Seattle is smart, they'd take a Kerfoot from us since he is probably the best center going to be made available and then take a goalie from teams like Montreal, Arizona, Washington, etc.

Do you watch Anaheim games?

Not very many to be honest. Here and there. But a 89.7 save percentage this year as well as a 90.4 last year doesn’t really show me we should break the bank for this guy, especially considering he’s got like 5 years remaining at 6.4 million. What if he’s on a decline similar to Freddy? And now we’re locked into that type of contract...

You would pass on getting a young starting goalie because Seattle might claim our backup goalie?

Obviously depends on the cost for gibson but i think it would be worth it.

1st, Andersen, roster player, and a prospect

Gibson has been worse than Andersen, and you want to pay a 1st, a roster player, and a prospect, for the pleasure of having a guy who is locked up for years at $6.4 mil? What? and Why?

This is what I’m not getting. This on top of the possibility of also loosing Campbell in the expansion draft.

we need to find a 1A/1B goalie to play with campbell. andersen is trash and campbell still isn't 100% recovered from his injury. if campbell gets injured in the playoffs or even before, we're screwed. i don't like the idea of having hutch as our #1.

dubas needs to find us a goalie. we can worry about our assets in relation to expansion draft when it happens. for now, focus on getting a goalie. going deep into the playoffs is the priority.

Never been big on committing to a goalie long term unless they're a generational stud on a fair deal.

Gibson deal makes no sense for either franchise right now.

Anaheim would be selling very low right now & the Leafs would get a goalie that's very bad right now for there cup run while taking up the little cap space they have. And then it screws their offseason cap flexibility & they've given up significant assets to acquire Gibson... no thanks.

Interesting... I'd definitely be looking at Barrett Hayton, some seasoning in the AHL on the top line working with our coaching staff and Underhill would do wonders for him. We don't exactly have a lot of prospect depth down the middle if in fact he is a center.

Guess where he played in the OHL...

We be a perfect 3C for us I think. Don’t know what the Yotes would want though. I’d assume the price would be high.
