I hope so! Him or Grits.

OT assist on the PP. Took a shot from the high slot and Erholtz batted in the rebound.

Edit: Scratch that. They reviewed it for a really long time. Apparently was batted in with his hand so no goal

I hope so! Him or Grits.

I like the idea of it being Lenni there and Grits with Timo-Nico. Either way hopefully would work

^The first 15sec until his goal (0:31)
The OT-chance scored with the glove (4:24)

- Quite a bit of good stuff today with the goal, 7 shot attempts, 1/2 on the shootout, & a real nice big hit (on former Oiler Iiro Pakarinen who had to gather himself a bit after it) with all the other physical play, in his 19:00 TOI.

- Only had the PP during OT, but again kinda felt like Lenni should be getting a few more passes from the defenseman who's on it.

- With all the guys available it has been taking some time to get a proper mix below Lenni's line, and with that trio carrying the load that they have for a bit now (in this rougher period for the team) there is the looming threat of them getting overworked. With some mixing even today the 2nd and 3rd lines felt like they got some solid combos going that have been tried before, with then the 4th being a work in progress. Fingers crossed.

IMO last season he really had a slump spring after the WJC, whereas this year I think he's even improved slightly. He did have a bit of a quiet period (as did the rest of his line), but what I mean is that he's actually been more active in his own end and on the forecheck instead of just coasting around.

His coach trusts him too, as he's been put on the ice late in the game even when defending a lead nevermind 3-on-3 where actually staying with your man is so important. This was hardly fathomable last year, and he had a more sheltered role (out of pure necessity since he was such a black hole without the puck). Has been throwing his weight around rather enthusiastically as well.

Could we see Lenni with the big club in the upcoming season? I’m thinking if he doesn’t challenge for a roster spot in training camp, maybe he can be an in-season call up.

Lenni with a great primary assist today on a gorgeous set play from the face-off right after the 1-0 goal:

TOI was spread quite a bit today between the lines and his linemates had a few shifts get prolonged so had a season low 12:36. So not too much to report, but still involved in some chances and whatnot. An important 3-1 win despite the overall meh game.

Love Lenni but I'm not sure I'd call it a gorgeous set play when the puck goes in from the neutral zone

Wow. If you're trying to make the accusation that somehow my own love for Lenni has heavily compromised my expert analysis of his play in my in-depth scouting reports, and that I’ve spread Lenni disinformation all these years just for likes and such…

Anyway today as seen above Lenni with the big goal on the 3rd SOG of the entire team on the PP at 34:41, which kinda tells you what kind of game it was today. Luckily things were a bit less bad for the last 25min, and Lenni's line (with him having the most solid effort of the trio) & goaltender Rubin showed up to steal a 3-1 win while losing xG 2.11 - 5.11. Hoping it was just a case of their minds wandering too much on the back2back against local rival Lukko later this week or something.

PP-goal (1:56)
Goal (2:21)
EN-primary (3:16)

Tied for 10th in both goals with 20, and in points with 49.

When you have a chance, give him a call and tell him to start working with Bratt's skating coach in the off-season.

Rare, small Devils related stuff when it comes to Lenni:

Devils development coach Esa Pirnes was at the game, and Lenni exchanged some words with him (no further info on that).

Said that the Devils have been in contact, but he's wanted to not do it to an excessive degree. Wants to now focus on this Ässät season. And that because of the military service last summer he's not been there in a while.

Lenni said that he feels like he's taken good steps in his development. That he can make the final decision himself when it comes to him going and challenging for an NHL spot, but atm. he's unable to reveal the time when he's leaving.

When you say "exchanged words" you mean had a discussion? In the states, "exchanged words" sort of implies a disagreement or argument. I imagine they were just chatting?
