too long since my last full game lenni viewing
  • puck play continues to look improved. confident handling, not really fumbling it anymore, still trying things. that ability, for example, to challenge defenders 1 on 1 or more easily drive the net with possession will help overcome the skating not being great. also complements his already good puck protection ability
  • still seeing more expanded passing ideas although hes maybe not as experimental with it (in a good way i suppose, he had his turnovers). mixing in delays, fake shots, give and go's, etc. never really just thinking shot on the puck, hes keeping an eye out for teammates in high danger areas
  • couple highlight reel set ups dancing through traffic (this isnt the lenni you know from his draft year lol). great job baiting the D/timing his passes, and some silky moves in the process. shame none of them ended up going
  • i actually didnt love his defensive game today, thought he came off more passive than im used to seeing. fine positionally, couple good touches with his stick, but not that much of a deterrent to the other team. also thought he was too lax with the puck on breakout attempts on the pp
solid stuff offensively today, playmaking game was impressive and stood out more than his usual style. continue to appreciate all the great coverage from juzmo/hisch13r and others

The defense thing isn’t something I’ve really keyed in on for the whole season but I did also find him to be pretty passive in the DZ when I watched the other day.

Yeah too bad Järvinen as his C is having a bit of a slower period and Erholtz showing his shot today as the main reason why he's not in the bigger leagues.

But yeah as I was also going to post he was setting up a larger than usual amount of solid chances today and looked quite good overall, but also that especially recently his line has definitely been hemmed in their own end too often.

...and I mean my reports are a lot of the team around Lenni anyway, so in further team news they been making some moves recently. Still one forward rumored to be added while a couple of good depth guys are apparently coming back in the next 1-2 games to hopefully help out sharing the load a bit more. Getting a mostly healthy line-up would be neat for the final stretch.
