Kyle, get me a top 6 LW ASAP, please.

Hall, Rakell, Palmieri (moving Nylander to RW), I don't care... Just get someone to play with Auston and Mitch.

At this point, it seems like its going to be Hall.

I wouldn't mind it. He would look so good on the 2nd line. Time to go for it. Canadian division. This could be our time to strike. We are a pretty good offense but we would be unstoppable with Hall.

With 100% inner division play:

Central Division
4. Chicago 37pts/35gp (.529 p%) - Janmark
5. Nashville 35pts/35gp (.500 p%) - Granlund, Ekholm, Haula
6. Columbus 35pts/34gp (.486 p%) - Foligno (captain)
7. Dallas 31pts/31gp (.500 p%) - Oleksiak (part of solidified top 4 D)

West Division
4. St. Louis 37pts/34gp (.544 p%)
5. Arizona 35pts/34gp (.515 p%)
6. Los Angeles 32pts/32gp (.500 p%) - Iafallo (only 27; expects extension talks)

Philadelphia Flyers - Laughton: way out but "we're not sellers"

This sucks. Not that I'm against Hall, I'd be happy if they got him for a 1st or less but Hall seems like the option right now unless Dubas waits a while & something really changes.

I will say Iafallo always made sense for the Leafs. I think he's a target. A couple months ago the Kings were fighting for a playoff spot so it seemed unlikely but they have fallen a bit since. He fits a lot what they are looking for and at a very good price. Not exactly a sexy name like Hall though.

I could see the Leafs also looking at Grundstrom or Anathasiou for additional forward depth.

Think he would be a really good fit for the Leafs, both as a top 6 or 3rd liner depending on where Hyman is in the lineup. Getting him at 50% would allow them to either add another cheap player or just have a 21-man active roster.

Still think Granlund is a better fit (him being able to easily play both wings & centre gives him the edge, plus I think he's a little bit better than Iafallo) & Hall is a good enough fit & the best forward available but it's looking more and more likely Granlund won't be moved, at least not until close to TDL day.

In 35 years on the job, Poile has never folded or gone all-in. Don't expect him to start at 71.
So you're saying he's due?

I do think this is a different year with no fans on the stands or gate revenue on the line (not much at least)

I like Iafallo. He's a good top 6 winger with no real weaknesses, and the Leafs really only have 5 reliable top 6 wingers. I just don't really see him as a difference maker the same way Taylor Hall is

I don't want Iafallo or Hall. Don't really see the need for either when we have plenty of decent/good forwards that we can play. Gally is looking decent so far so keep playing him or let Robertson play a few and see what he can do on one of the top lines.

Would prefer Dubas just get a good goalie and call it a day and not trade our picks and good prospects away for a non-priority need.

Don't think it's going to cost much this year to add a top 6 left wing and complete the forward group. This is a good year to make a deal. Can probably get it done without trading a top 5 prospect or a 1st round pick.

We're to good and our path is to clear not to make an intelligent add or two to the forward group, we still look short a top 6 LW or a 3rd line center to me

I'm not saying sell the farm but if ever there was a year to trade some picks or prospects to supplement the core this is it

I'm a fan of Grunland if he's available, Hall would be interesting and a big swing, Iafallo would add an interesting dynamic

I think the trade comes closer to the deadline. Too many teams are still in the mix right now, They'll likely make their decision on if their a seller closer to the deadline.

we would look like the 2nd Oilers.

If Hall comes over I think the prospects of McDavid signing with the Leafs in the future becomes significantly higher - if the deal pays off - we may see the emergence of a 4 HEADED MONSTER with Matthews Marner Hall Nylander

So I saw this posted in another thread but someone mentioned moving Andersen to help fit Hall in.

Now I'll say this. I don't want Hall. I don't think he is the type of attitude play you want to bring into a team. At some point you really have to consider that maybe he is a problem. 11,12,15,17, and 19. 5 first overall picks for teams he's been on in 9 years in the league. 8 of 9 drafting in the top 5-10. Buffalo will be no worse than 4th? overall this year. Don't want him.

But now to the point of this.
Andersen, Kerfoot, 1st round pick, more if needed. Don't want to trade anyone of Sandin, Liljegren, Robertson, but would move Amirov.
Hall and Ullmark

I would bring Hall in, if you could get Ullmark too.

I agree and have been saying this quite a bit. Don't want Hall, don't want to see him here. Would rather a grittier or edgier player who has some sandpaper, which we will very much need come playoffs.

I really hope Buffalo beats Philadelphia (& Boston beats NJ) so that it really sinks in that they're very far out of a playoff spot & the fact that they lose to the 17-game losing streak Buffalo Sabres without an Eichel or Staal should be a punch to the gut.

Maybe Kerfoot could be of slight value to them (Buffalo) while we add either Hall & Laughton or Foligno & Laughton:

Foligno/Hyman - Matthews - Marner
Galchenyuk/Thornton - Tavares - Nylander
Mikheyev - Laughton - Hyman/Foligno
Simmonds - Engvall - Spezza

OR

Hyman - Matthews - Marner
Hall - Tavares - Nylander
Mikheyev - Laughton - Simmonds
Thornton/Galchenyuk - Engvall - Spezza

Could heavily retain to add even more but you'd only want to give up so much for rentals, along with too much of a roster change. Leafs could form a tougher line between Foligno, Hyman, Laughton & Simmonds as well.

Giving up less than a 1st (+Kerfoot) for Hall/Foligno & a 2nd or less for Laughton would be great for this team I'd think. They might even have space left over to get a 3rd goalie like Dreidger (as third party to Florida acquiring a rental); Dreidger would be a 2nd at most I'd think.

If the Leafs are planning on moving Kerfoot in the offseason they should be pushing to do it now because they really could use the cap space NOW & 3.5m on your 4th line isn't good enough for a cap strapped team. Throw asset management out the window even if the difference is getting a 4th for him vs giving up a 4th/c prospect to send him somewhere; he just isn't a great fit for this team at 3.5m. Team is going to have to give up assets just to have player(s) retained anyways because of their cap situation.
