Yes, it’s such a shame that even when we add veterans who have won, we still can only barely get by the 1st round, and then go out with a whimper in the next round. But someday (how long have we been saying that) luck will be on our side, right? I mean, we have the core who will do what they can, because they can’t do it all, they will need help., as well as LUCK!

Everything on the leafs revolves around the core...period. They fail so does the team. They set the example. They dont care about losing, that loser mentality prevails the dressing room. Time to disband them already. This core is going no where.

Excuses for matthews
Everyone plays hurt.
All the players I mentioned have carried their team on their backs. We won one round in 7 years of our greatest player.
He didn’t score a goal against Florida oh right injuries lol

Matthews doesn’t have what it takes to suck it up and win at all costs. Too busy with his man purse and fashionista costumes and rolling with the Biebs.

We paid him as the second highest paid player in the league for the last five years and has failed to elevate his game in the playoffs.


Watch drai he goes to all the dirty areas of the rink to make things happen. Matthews numbers don’t come close to what Drai puts up. His team has gone further than our team lead by the second highest paid player in the league

Agreed, but it should have been done before their NMCs kicked in. Unfortunately, they now hold all the cards.

Probably has regrets. He had the talent and natural ability to be a player, but didn't seem to have the drive to get there.

Evidently there is a rule stating you need a minimum of 8 "veterans" during preason and that is why they got him on a PTO

He's injured until Nov/Dec I think. I would love to snag him up while he rehabs and hope he can return to form. He would be a really good depth guy to give a shot to.

Well now we can’t pay him 10 million and of course he isn’t 4-5 million less than matthews in terms of skill. So yes he is gone. I hope we can get something good for him preferably a young dman with potential
