Yes, most likely. They've ridden it out before, and it worked out. Would only work if StL wants a shakeup and values Marner.St Louis says no.

I don’t see MM for Horvat + even though Nucks would love to make that trade. Imagine MM playing on a line with Boeser and Miller.Pierre McGuire apparently (not sure if legit...).
I've been thinking of 2 possible "core shakeup" trades lately, one which was Horvat:
Marner for Horvat+ (would love a dman, but their dmen suck...)
Marner + Kerfoot for Tarasenko + O'Reilly (cap nearly even, shakes up both teams)
It's hard to say we win either of these trades as Marner is probably the best player in both, but I think our core needs a shakeup.
Outside of futures based packages and sandin or liljegren i dont think anything else is realistic from a vancouver point of viewI don’t see MM for Horvat + even though Nucks would love to make that trade. Imagine MM playing on a line with Boeser and Miller.
I do see the Blues deal as I mentioned it before but that’s got to do with the direction the MGT is planning than making a hockey deal.
If there is a Nucks deal with Horvat.Outside of futures based packages and sandin or liljegren i dont think anything else is realistic from a vancouver point of view
And boeser would likely be dumped in this deal for monies sake.. or myers
Marner is too big a swing and doesnt necessarily represent a culture changer type move
Everyone is mad at the big boys including me everyone wants them traded but have they ever had a good strong support roster around them?Agreed. Cant make a desperation trade now, you're gonna lose it.
And its not like trading Holl or Kerfoot or some other depth guy is gonna make a difference.
Dont bail these players out, let them try to figure it out. And if they cant, take your lottery pick and the new gm can decide where to go from there.
Horvat is nowhere near Marners level and is a pending UFA. You offer a pick and a prospect for him, not a top 5 RW on the league with control. If there is a Nucks deal with Horvat.
It will most likely be MM and Holl for Horvat and Myers plus pick.
I think Nucks want playoffs more than anything.
But I don’t think the Leafs would do that.
I'd rather move him to Nashville for Jeanot+Askarov+1st+. Not sure how much we'd need to add for them to include Tomassino or Fabbro. Of course they may have to send money back to fit Marner in under their cap.If we’re trading Marner, there better be a lot more coming with Horvat. Especially when you factor in he’s an upcoming UFA…
Marner for Provorov + Konecny. I’d rather see a deal around that. Obviously other pieces would be involved in a deal that big.
What are you basing this on? Current group don't have the balls to do it, I agree, but what's stopping the next regime?Marner is not getting traded. Not with this management group or even the next one.
I know that this goes against some of your agendas but in real life he will not be traded.

Definitely too rich and they are winger heavy alreadyTo start, after this season Horvat is UFA and marner has a two years left.
There'd have to be a new contract for Horvat for that trade to make any sense for the Leafs. New contract is minimum 8+, so can't really use marner-Horvat=5.4mm capspace.
Horvat is 2 years older, and a hot start doesn't make him a PPG player.
But, I'd be okay with a deal for Horvat, but marner might just be too rich for the Canucks.
Well, one of the big 4 forwards needs to be traded in order to balance out the cap spent between forwards and defense.Marner is not getting traded. Not with this management group or even the next one.

Toronto could pluck a good package from vancouver in my opinion if both wanted it to happen
Agreed .. more realistic than marner but again not what they needMore relistic proposal would be around Nylander for Horvat with add-ons from both sides.
We don’t really need Carter Hart, especially if Samsonov continues his current play.Well, one of the big 4 forwards needs to be traded in order to balance out the cap spent between forwards and defense.
I like the previous Flyer trade idea. Here's my expanded suggestion:
To Toronto - Ivan Provorov, Travis Konecny, Carter Hart, plus a 2nd round draft pick.
To Philly - Mitch Marner, Rasmus Sandin, Keith Petruzzelli, plus a 3rd round draft pick
I didn't check the cap implications or values. Our Leafs might have to retain $3M on Marner to make this happen.
Flame away!
I wonder how much of a game of chicken we're in regarding Pietruzzelli's ELC. Wouldn't surprise me that if NAK is claimed it gets done soon after. Big guy with draft pedigree and AHL performance isn't going to be left alone forever.
I might be wrong, but I don't think you can sign a next season ELC until Jan 1.Yeah, they could sign him to a future NHL deal.
So can they sign him to a futures NHL deal, and then sign him to a one year deal if they clear a contract?

Marner is genuinely one of the best players in the leagueHoly crap some of you are overvaluing mitch Marner. He's also a free agent next year. Philly laugh at you
Ur the most unrealistic here. Philly quickly says no
He's a free agent next year. A winger also. Not A C like eichel who got three 1st round picks or lessMarner is genuinely one of the best players in the league
I think you're undervaluing him
