If they go:

Rielly-Brodie
Giordano-Liljegren
Sandin-Holl

For an extended look, I am optimistic about that group. To me, the biggest concern there is Gio getting bogged down by big minutes. He can handle the competition and play at that level for sure, but the minutes will run up for sure.

Trade for a mayfield type for rielly play the kids together and reunite the Calgary top pair and roll em I think that’s the ideal situation

Maybe Sandin could sub in for Gio for 5-6 shifts a night so it's something like

Rielly: 24:00
Brodie: 24:00
Liljegren: 22:00
Giordano: 18:00
Sandin: :18:00
Holl: 14:00

I really think Liljegren can be an elite top 4 d-man this year.

The insiders and radio heads are getting on the E Karlsson band wagon…..the guy cost too much and can’t play in his own end

Holl will be getting a lot more than 14 minutes a night, and he should be getting a lot more than that anyways.

Rielly: 23 (18ES + 4PP + 1PK)
Brodie: 21 (18 ES + 3PK)
Liljegren: 18 (16ES + 2PK)
Holl: 18 (15 ES + 3PK)
Giordano: 18 (16 ES + 2PK)
Sandin: 16 (15 ES + 1PP)

That is more likely what you are looking at if Holl is on the 3rd pairing.
 
If Muzzin is actually finished, I’m still hoping we go after someone like Provorov. Use Sandin to be apart of the package going to Philadelphia. Chychrun would be nice but would cost more and is a lot more injury prone.

They will very likely look for one regardless but I think the quality will vary. I wouldn't be surprised if they look at packaging Sandin, or maybe even Holl, for a locked up experienced defenseman that will solidify the top 4.

It's more likely they just keep everyone, add a pending UFA rental, and go for it.... again.

Definitely need to add a solidified top four into the group IMO. We have Sandin who can be apart of the package, we still have our 1st round draft pick and a bunch of good prospects. Time to finally deal from a position of strength in quantity for quality.

Brodie looks better on the left side, imo.

Rielly - Acquisition
Brodie - Lilly for shutdown duties
Sandin - Giordano

I'd be a fan of it, partly because EK is one of my favorite players. If we traded Rielly and got EK retained down to what Rielly makes, I'd like it.

If Muzzin is gone, I don't really see an option that isn't trading for Connor Murphy as this point.

My only worry with Murphy is, do we find ourselves in a very similar position with Murphy in 2 years as we find ourselves with Muzzin today given their very similar style of play.

But overall I definitely wouldn’t be upset acquiring Murphy as he definitely upgrades our defence and on paper seems like an ideal partner for Rielly.

My top target would be Provorov if Philadelphia keeps dropping in the standings. Sandin would have to go the other way.

Provorov would be good but I don't think the Flyers will ever accept that they suck for a rebuild and he's probably one of their more talented defenseman. Seems very unlikely any time soon. They will retool until Fletcher is gone.

It'll take awhile to see sellers emerge. Chicago and Arizona are 2 big sellers right now. Anaheim is gonna be there as well. The West is terrible.

They wouldn’t really need to rebuild. You can make a package that involves Sandin and Kerfoot. Attach a pick and a prospect, it might work.

There's no way they do that with what they are trying to go for. It doesn't fit anything for them.

He’s worse defensively than Rielly, which saying something.

Who knows. Last year they were listening to offers on Provorov and apparently willing to move on from his contract.

Chychrun is the more likely defenceman if we want to make a big splash but his injury history scares me.
 
Need a solid two way guy like Dmitry Orlov. If the Capitals are going to be headed towards a rebuild, I'd love to pry him away.

He'd add a lot of stability and can chip in on offense as well.
