You think Murray is going to come back and not get injured again ? He will get injured again within 2 weeks of him initially coming back, I’d bet my life on it .
You still can’t make moves using his cap hit assuming he’ll be on LTIR for the entire season when he’s not… lol

We will take him over Kallgren anyday.
The Leafs will ease him back. There’s also no more debate IMO who our number 1 is. It’s Samsonov meaning Murray when healthy will get limited action and hopefully be ready come playoffs.

We are fresh off hating Konecyn, but I would love that kind of fire on the Leafs.

I would offer Kerfoot [cap], 1st & Someone other than Robertson for him. Maybe Holmberg?

Would probably have to be Robertson realistically.

He was benched by Torts this year already IIRC.

Bunting - Matthews - Marner

Konecny - Tavares - Nylander

Engvall - Kampf - Jankrok

ZAR - Douglas - Simmonds

Flyers aren't trading Konecny. That org is pretty barren of talent, they need all they can get. It would cost Knies+1st+.

Last year, all of our additions seemed to be really good.

Kampf, Bunting, Gio, Kase, Babooshka etc

This year its flop after flop. Samsonov been excellent. But the rest have been a disgrace

ZAR, NAK, jarnkrok, Murray

Weird that you are ignoring the fact that Gio and Bush were mid season additions.

ZAR had a very good game last night and had been decent the last few. Jarnkrok also played well last night I thought.

NAK and Murray havent played enough to come to any real conclusion

Still very early for these guys. At this time last year Bunting was playing on the 4th line and Kase was already injured.

ZAR had his first good game last night... though he probably could have scored a few more, if he had better hands. I say that, even if he hadn't scored, though it was nice to finally score.

Malgin, another (kind of) addition, had a very nice game as well, and might factor into the team this season, depending on other moves. yes Jarkrok played well, though I think he's had his share of good games, but hadn't been rewarded for it.

NAK, yes it's early, but it hasn't work for him, and there are a bunch of guys challenging for spots, who have shown better.

Samsanov, another addition has been very good.

Murray, who knows.

NAK is still a frequent hitter for his minutes and he's a grinder. Always has been. It hasn't worked out with us after a good season in Colorado, but he's been a long-time journeyman team to team. A depth player that doesn't play above his role will happen frequently. Not every signing will be a home run. The good news is that he can be buried in the minors fully, so if it comes to that it's no big loss.

I just can't get over the idea that we are perfect trading partners with Chi.

Max Domi (50% ret) and Connor Murphy if Muzz/Murray are out all year.

Bunts - AM - MM
Kerf - Tavares - Nylander
Domi - Holmberg - Jarnkrok
Engvall - Kampf - ZAR
Knies

Rielly - Murphy
Brodie - Lilly
Sandin - Gio
Mete

Holmberg had a nice first game, but I don't know if I pencil him permanently at this point. We also don't know if Robertson becomes a permanent guy, or not as of yet, and there is always Knies to think about.

Domi has had a good year, but outside of being pesty, he isn't particularly physical... he doesn't hit.. he is scrappy though. One thing, is he has been excellent at faceoffs, though I think outside of faceoffs, he is playing wing. I think AA is playing as the C, but not taking faceoffs... Jarnkrok and Keft haven't been great at Faceoffs, so it would be nice to have an upgrade there.

It's an interesting thought for sure... maybe give some of our guys a bit more runway, to figure out what we do have, and don't... as well as Muzzin's permanent status, when we can determine if we have the cap space to make such a move.

I would believe, if the team determines he isn't a fit here, he'll be moved for futures.... basically nothing, so that he can continue his career elsewhere... perhaps even in a deal for something we do need, as a throw in.

Lube is a healthy scratch down in Buffalo - they'd probably be glad to be rid of his 3m cap hit.
Is he actually? I would do Lyubushkin @ 50% for Holl.

Sabres add Holl to help with the PK and Leafs add a RHD that can clear the net.

I wonder if the team quitely considers an Engvall trade. He seems an unlikely candidate for an extension given his qualifying offer. And is young enough that another team could view him as a project.

Would give the front office the ability to make a minor shakeup too to the top 9

He’s been a disappointment… only 1 goal (his only point) in 10 games to start the year after nice progress last year.

IMO the Leafs were probably hoping he’d replace Mikheyev’s lost offense but he hasn’t and his speed has been as big of a factor.

Definitely a candidate to get moved

Yep. He unfortunately just hasn't clicked yet.

I don't see any motivation to touch Kerfoot from the front offices POV at the moment. So that only likely leaves Holl or Engvall as likely trade bait should they want to send a minor shakeup

If Muzzin is indeed out until the end of year / the rest of his career, we could see a significant trade earlier then we expected. Apart from his injuries, Muzzin is a legitimate top 4 d-man and leaves a big hole in the lineup that would need to be addressed ASAP. Toronto can last a month or so without him, but going the entire season and playoffs without him is a big hole in the lineup.

Murphy from Chicago seems like the most obvious target, wonder if St. Louis is willing to sell off as they are struggling.

I've thought Seattle would be a good trading partner for a while now. Don't think they'd part with Wright...he'd be the guy they'd be getting Marner to play with. BUT, they have many parts the Leafs need.

I would personally like to see a return including Larsson, Gourde, McCann, and Appleton. Marner being the far and above best player in the trade, I'm not sure what either side would have to add. But veteran toughness and a stay at home defenseman certainly fit the bill here. Building their team around Wright and Marner would suit them nicely as well.
Lol that trade is trash for us.

Maybe holl, kerfoot and two 2nds at most.

What energy players or spark plugs are available on non playoff teams?

We also need another backup goalie because kalgren ain’t it and Murray’s health can’t be trusted.

Leafs will probably wait to see how Liljegren does over the next few weeks before really starting to get into the market. I don't think there would be a huge need to break the bank on a defenseman if he comes in and plays as expected.

Muhf***as had 1 good game and some of the worst underlying stats ever for rest of games.

Even if Liljegren comes in and does well we may still need a defenseman

I love Gio but he's not exactly a spring chicken and Holl, Sandin and Mete aren't exactly confidence inspiring in a top 4 role

I still think we would need another mid pair caliber player
