Not only can you, and should you take two completely different approaches, you should take different approaches for each and every player.

Yeah, every player has a different development path, and that means each player gets a different coaching plan, but that doesn't mean a whole different set of rules for each player. Treating players differently leads to division in the room. Call it whatever you want, you can't hold some player accountable and not others.

Accountable? How would even have come to a conclusion that Robertson sitting is being held accountable? That’s asinine. Could you please tell us what they’ve told Robertson when he was called up, what he’s being told now that he sat and what their plan is?

If they’re benching him for any reason other than accountability, that’s asinine. If they liked his play, he’d play more instead of less. There’s nothing wrong with that aspect. The problem comes when others players don’t get held to a similar standard.

I don’t know the specifics of their plan for him, but being scratched only means one thing.

It’s the same pattern repeatedly. The team plays poorly and somebody who isn’t making 11 million gets geld accountable.

Bottom 6 looks a lot better with Engvall on the 4th line and Malgin in the lineup.

Not totally upset about Robertson sitting to give Holmberg a shot, but it shouldn't be a regular thing either.
Then the kids play no reason all three can’t be in the line up trade kerfoot or engvall rather kerfoot cause that means one of the kids in the top six and a better return plus one small guy out one small guy In

You are projecting without any knowledge. You admit you don’t actually know the situation, and are making assumptions. Then drawing baseless conclusions. Strange.

I'd like to see Adam Larsson done the blue and white. I'd assume Holl would be part of the package, and I'd look into Kerfoot joining him. How to fill it out? I'm guessing Seattle would be looking at a substantial pick or prospect. Our first in 24? Flipping Holl and Kerfoot at the TDL = 1st, 2nd and a 3rd for Larsson. Does that get it done?

Marner for Meier and Karlsson @ 50%

This does nothing to solve our depth issues and we still need a Muzzin replacement, but it's the sort of thing I'd be looking for in a Marner deal. I think we'd love Meier here.
I really don't get trading Marner.

Our team is loaded with shooters i.e Matthews, Tavares, Robertson and to an extent Nylander is a shooter but he can create and shoot. Marner is our best pure playmaker by far. We need more creativity not less so i'm opposed to trading Marner even though Karlsson can create he's not the type of player I want on the back end.

What this team really needs more then anything is a playmaking center or winger so we don't have to have 2 shooters i.e Tavares and Robertson on the same line. Would love a pure playmaker center or winger. I think having another playmaker would really open things up and help the flow of things. Paradoxically, prime Kessel would have fit in well with this team but Kane would fit even better.

This isn’t a video game. Just because Matthews is an elite shooter doesn’t mean he can’t also set up linemates. In fact, the predictability of Marner always passing and Matthews always shooting likely hurts their productivity.

I just can't get over the idea that we are perfect trading partners with Chi.

Max Domi (50% ret) and Connor Murphy if Muzz/Murray are out all year.

Bunts - AM - MM
Kerf - Tavares - Nylander
Domi - Holmberg - Jarnkrok
Engvall - Kampf - ZAR
Knies

Rielly - Murphy
Brodie - Lilly
Sandin - Gio
Mete

Matt Murray is back on the ice skating. Not sure where people are getting this idea he’s going to be on LTIR all season…

He'll be back, but sounds like he's still awhile away. He's skating but only standing up for drills.

He was injured on October 17th with at least 4 weeks of recovery time. He won’t be returning until at least November 14th which is still ways away.

Murphy + Domi feels more and more like the right move. I prefer Brodie on the left side.

Domi would be half retained and expiring, and adds a bit of extra offence to the bottom 6 while bringing that Bunting attitude.

You can only have a playmaker and a shooter on the same line in a video game?

Lube is a healthy scratch down in Buffalo - they'd probably be glad to be rid of his 3m cap hit.
Plus Leafs would have kept him if he was in the million range. I would have too. You can find guys like him easily. Schenn is a good example and reportedly Leafs had interest in him last year.
In an ideal scenario, I think at the deadline Leafs need is a 7th physical depth d man and a top 6 winger with some bite. All though if Holl continues to struggle and Muzzin doesn't come back, that will change.

Leafs wouldn't take him for free.

You think Murray is going to come back and not get injured again ? He will get injured again within 2 weeks of him initially coming back, I’d bet my life on it .
