He's arguably the best all-round D on the team now.So is Liljegren a very good top 4 defenseman? By those stats, why isn't he playing more of a shutdown role and why is he averaging the 5th most average time on ice per game for Leafs defense?
I understand that he's having a very good year. He's been more consistent than last year. But are you suggesting he's in the same breath as Toews, Makar and Spurgeon?
He's closer to a top-2 than bottom pairing.
There is no metric or eye test than can say anything differently, unless there is a massive personal bias against this player..
