I'd definitely take a long look at Bemstrom and Fjallby for forwards. Mahura and Moverare on defence. Ingram in goal.

I'd keep an eye out for defensemen. Even with Sandin back, we could use a temporary depth option for a little bit (even if they end up on waivers again in a few weeks). Benn and Liljegren are hurt. Mete took that puck too. Our 7/8/9 depth is lacking right now.

No contract space or cap room, without someone being moved or LTIR surprises.

Myers cap hit is $2.55 mil and he’s barely more than an AHL project. He could grow into a bottom pairing guy with the right guidance, but he isn’t worth that cap hit. He likely doesn’t get claimed.

Figured with the big Deslauriers signing that they'd not bother with Simmonds

Either way, claiming for us is basically not a conversation as with ZAR signing, we're 50/50.

Simmonds is a great guy and had a really solid career. No shame in keeping the username.

They won’t be claimed, so they aren’t likely claimed. Nice to have tougher guys on the team, but they have to be able to play hockey and these two are no longer good enough.

Yep. I like tough players. But they have to be able to play and Clifford and Simmonds can’t at this point.

Moverare is a defenseman. Not bad, but still needs work on his skating. If there was nothing else, maybe worth a claim, but given his contract, I doubt he is.

Bemstrom needs more AHL time to develop an identity. Right now he is kind of AAAA purgatory. Same with Fjallby. Bemstrom has a 900k one-way contract for two-years. Would not be a bad option for us to get in a trade if we can clear some contract spots, since I doubt CBJ wants a guy making 900k in the AHL.

Mahura is not that great. Struggles in his own end and doesn't put up offense either. Ingram is a solid #3 but nothing more at this point. We have guys like Fjallby already in the AHL.

Every player has issues when they hit the waiver wire. That's the whole point. You won't get a star 99% of the time. I think someone like Mahura would be a very good target to stash and develop further, he has a lot of similar tools to Dermott.

And yeah, it's mostly about trading for them once they clear, if they clear. There's no cap or contract spots available right now for a claim, unless things change in the next day or so. They certainly aren't better than anything we have.

Not for 30 days or a certain number of games.

He would need waivers to go back down only after he's played in 10 games or been on the roster for so many days (I believe 30 days but not sure on that number).

Not if they have cleared waiver recently. And as Robertson looks like the likely call up he is exempt anyway.
