With these situations it's important to ask why Tanev is only logging 20 minutes a night on a team that is worse than us, yet should be a top pair guy worth giving up a lot of value for.
I can’t see Calgary moving Tanev. Their record with and without Tanev in the lineup is insane. They need him there.
Well like I stated in my proposal, Calgary have both Andersson and Weegar locked in long term, both are RHD and are if not better, then atleast equal to Tanev. With Tanev and Rielly having a dominance performance when paired together at the World Cup, and also with Tanev being signed for next year as well, he would definitely help solidify our back end without really mortgaging the future.
I don't really see why Nashville would consider this in any way.
Even if he’s not a true C - an Engvall for Trenin trade could be a good move for both teams based on their production this year and last.
On paper it’s a no brainer but who would take Rielly? I can’t think of many teams in the league who would take him for free. Maybe Columbus if they lose Gavrikov. LAK might take him for equal salary coming back (Iafallo+Roy?).
A 1st in a deal for Laughton and MacEwen?! I like both those players but no chance I’m giving up a 1st plus other pieces for them.
I think he will do better here because our team has more then two high end players to worry about. We have a core four with an excellent 3 C in kampf as well as solid d that the Oilers don't have. Also if he doesn't work out great we sign him for cheap or we don't qualify him and let him walk and we lose nothing.
