On paper Chychrun only cost two more 2nd rounders than Sandin, but if Gus can net a 2nd rounder, than Chychrun only cost ONE more 2nd rounder than the Sandin trade.

Big difference between Ottawa's first rounder and the Boston pick (or ours).

Why are people talking about what it could cost the Leafs to get Chychrun? Did the Leafs even want him? I’m under the impression that he is more of an offensive d-man while the Leafs were looking for a more physical d-man who could clear players out of the crease. I think McCabe fits what they are looking for better.

I don't believe they were ever actually in it except to see what the ask was. Without Mo, its a different story but he isn't a hitter or a shutdown guy and Reilly isn't going anywhere

Dubas has done a nice job not only adding for this year but next year. He added a top 4 D for 2 mil plus a 3rd/4th line C for 1.15.

Lafferty is insurance vs Kampf in case Kampft wants big money. McCabe allows the 6-man D unit to return next season and frees cap space for the goalie and forwards. Kerfoot and Sandin's money is allocated to Bunting 4.9 on his next deal

I know he has been. But he does let softies in occasionally and it is worrisome. That being said, no idea who we would get that is better, so maybe just roll with this. I do want another forward though.
