Callahan played sooo well on Tuesday. It's like the Ranger's and Callahan came to a deal but just haven't signed yet. Like How Lundqvist miraculously improved after his deal? Just an observation.

Um Lundqvist sunk to the worst we've seen after his deal...? Got a bit better and very quickly returned to last season's form... it's really only been a month since he became what he should be.

Sadly, Cally's new MO is to be the best player on the ice, hands down, and follow it up with a game where he might as well not be on the ice. MZA is the real difference-maker, he makes games like tonight worth watching.

You heard Hank, they're like the Isles -- more talented than we are up front... but we don't underestimate the Isles.

Not Talbot's fault... he, MZA, Brass, and McDonagh were the only ones who showed up.

Stralman, too.

Guys like kreider and Hagelin are important to any winning team, kreider will continue to grow but with hags this is who he is. Hagelin is a 3rd line lw playing in the top 6 which tells me this team needs a top 6 lw bad

I don't agree on that one. Injury sidelined him. This kid can be top 6 all day long. In addition to that he adds lightning quick speed to that role as well. This is only year 3. Natural progression. Full season, he's a 20 goal/45-50 point guy. He's just not done cooking yet!

#Isles have traded Peter Regin and Pierre-Marc Bouchard to Chicago for a 2014 4th-round pick.

Good going Snow. Lol.

I held on hoping that for awhile, but this might be as good as he gets. He's good, either way.

I'm still on his bandwagon. I look at a guy like Pat Sharp. You knew he was a good player, yet teetered on 3 rd line. In his 4th season he finally hit 20 goals but only had 35 points overall. In his 5th and 6th season he got it. Became a legitimate 60 point guy. I don't think that is out of reach for Carl Hagelin. In fact I expect that to happen in due time. Solid 2nd line mins. Same linemates. He'll get there.

Don't see it. Sharp has a much better shot than Hagelin.

Not a bad trade by Snow. PMB was waiver wire fodder earlier this year and I don't think he's dressed for the Isles since December. Regin has been unimpressive as well.

It's an awful trade. A fourth round pick for a 3/4C that will play immediately for a team that's better than you plus a depth forward AND the Isles are paying 1/2 their salary. It's a terrible trade.

Those players suck, are you kidding? Bouchard cleared waivers earlier in the year. Regin adds almost nothing.

Cally proved tonight why you can't pay him the money he is asking..
Breakaway in a tie game umm no goal.. Late in third of a tie game clear path to the net umm missed the net not once but twice..

Late in the second oilers control the puck in the rangers zone cally late in his shift dives to block a shot .. Great hockey play you. Say ? Umm no he dove face first at the shooter.. Guy is a animal and great team player but always hurt.. I pass on anything over 5.5

Regin had positive puck possession as a third liner on one of the worst teams in the east. A 4th round pick for a starting 3rd line guy (on a team that's contending, no less)? I do that trade every time - never mind that it includes another player who is a borderline NHL'er and you only have to pay 1/2 their contracts. Snow is a complete tool that can't be giving away players for low draft picks.

The Post has learned there was essentially no progress the last two days toward overcoming the impasse in negotiations between the Blueshirts and No. 24, even as general manager Glen Sather and Callahan’s agent, Steve Bartlett, renewed discussions, with the gap between the parties remaining as substantial as ever.

Callahan’s asking price of seven years for upward of $6.5 million per year is known around the league, so the pool of clubs interested in trading for the right winger has been narrowed to those pursuing a rental for the remainder of the season.

While a league source told The Post Sather appears determined to get something in return for Callahan rather than simply allowing him to flee as a free agent on July 1, the GM had not received an offer enticing enough to warrant dealing the captain before the Rangers’ final two games before the break.

Callahan is going to free agency. When Sather and Bartlett speak. What do they discuss? Callahan hasn't budged off his asking price since last summer. What is there to discuss? Everyone gets so excited. Sather and Bartlett are scheduled to talk today. What did Derrick Coleman once say? “Whoop-de-damn-do".

Meanwhile, the situation concerning Dan Girardi, also a pending unrestricted free agent, will remain unresolved into the winter hiatus.

Though the parties appeared last week to be closing the gap on an extension, The Post has been told that the sides have made no further progress in the interim.

Industry sources have said the Rangers could expect to receive substantially more in return for Girardi than Callahan should Sather begin to entertain trade offers for the first-pair, right defenseman during the break.

Girardi is putting himself on the trade block. Newport is content to take their client to free agency.

Sather needs to ship both of them out of here. McKenzie said its a bad sign if Girardi goes into the Olympics unsigned.

It'd be similar if we'd traded Pouliot and Pyatt for a 4th in November. not bad or good, and BIG odds are that nothing noteworthy will come of it, except those guys... and the grinning, zitty kid that will be drafted and never make the NHL.

And that shows why it's a bad trade. Pouliot has become a useful player for us.

I disagree on the Danny G front... If the reported numbers are true then they're just a couple 100k apart. Sounds like NYR offered 6/5.2 and he wants 6/5.5 there's a deal there.

No way. Hagelin does not have the offensive weapons Sharp has particularly his shot and his hands. Hagelin is a nice role player but I don't think you can win a cup if you are depending on him for offense. They need someone ruthless at LW.
