Incarcerated Bob says Sens interested in Hart.

He's actually right a fair amount, at least from what I've seen.

Do we even have the assets (prospects or draft picks) to acquire anyone from a rebuilding team?

Ostapchuk would be someone that Philly could be interested in.

Maybe we trade Cat somewhere for futures and then flip those futures to Philly for Hart.

Dubois is in the same boat as DeBrincat. Doesnt make sense other than aragorn's boner for the bigbois
It's a Tragedy you are not watching the playoffs this yr & how Vegas is winning with their hard hitting players. Is there a reason why Dubois would not sign here? If DBC doesn't want to sign here maybe Dubois will, it's worth trying & he could be cheaper. It's rumoured he wants to go to Montreal & Ottawa is very close to Montreal without the Montreal media to deal with. He will sign somewhere why not here?

I mean it really wouldn’t be hard to find out since undoubtably the guys talked about it to other players at the time, and theses guys are all connected through agents and teammates.

The names are known, the only thing not known is whether the boys’ behaviour legally constitutes sexual assault, or more specifically if it can be reasonably proven in court.
Lawyers should have told them to not talk about it, so it couldn’t be used against them, if there was something there.

Friedman linked Debrincat to St.Louis

I think that makes a lot of sense as he can play with Thomas and Kyrou

they have two late firsts and NHL-ready guys like Schenn who can come in to replace a top 9 spot
Schenn would be a solid player to target. He did play six seasons with Giroux. Acquiring him might also help with possibly signing his brother as well if the Sens want to shore up the d core.

He is not exactly the same caliber of player but getting Brayden Schenn would kind of be like when the Kings acquire Mike Richards.

St. Louis has a lot of realistic pieces the Sens should want in return for DBC.

25th, 29th, Bolduc, Dean. That's 4 1st round pieces. Getting two of them without an extension would be fine with me.

Schenn and his contract would need to be a part of it, unless they had another trade to move Parayko/Krug/Faulk out. Schenn + 25th/Dean, something like that
Samuel Blais was pretty impressive at the WC this summer and looks like he could be poised for a breakout season. The Sens could possibly look to acquire Schenn and Blais as part of the return or DeBrincat.

Blues also have Jake Neighbours as well who looks like a decent prospect.

I proposed a similar deal with Opstapchuk for Gibson as the core pieces.

I think Opstapchuk for Hart makes some sense as a base as well.

I doubt Schenn is someone the Blues will move.

They have a ton of wingers but few centers. No one behind Thomas and Schenn that could center the 2nd line if Schenn is dealt.

Bolduc and Dean are in the pipeline but are probably a year or two away.

Buchnevich is playing C for them.

Schenn has been on their 3rd line the last 30 games of the season, they moved Buchnevich to center, would be surprised if he didn't start there next season

Schenn, cap hit for the next 5 years totals $32.5m, dollars owed $30.8m

Sounds like a Sens move alright.
I don't think there's enough savings there to fit the MO tbh.

We were more of a 10 mil owed after a 3 mil bonus paid for a 2nd rounder with an 18 mil cap hit kinda team.

I'd take Schenn. He's a good player who had an average season on a team that just wasn't playing well last year. He fits in with the motto of this team. His contract still has term and is a pretty good deal. He's versatile, plays hard, with speed, and plays at both ends of the ice.

Blues are re-tooling. Schenn is getting older and Debrincat could be part of their core for a long time. By the time the Blues are competing again Schenn would likely be 33-35.

The only thing I dislike about the idea is that we got Debrincat to have someone that would be part of the core of this team for a long time and we acquired him specifically because he was the same age as the rest of the core. Now you trade a 25 year old player for a guy that's 31 and has injury history.

Surely Schenn is not waiving his NTC to come to Ottawa anyway, right?

Even if he would, do you really want him for his age 32-36 seasons?

Yeah, Schenn is 32 in a month or so, will be signed for his 32-36 year old seasons. Not a real fit with the teams window.

Isn’t what you’d want, but the Blues only have 7 million in cap space to sign 4 forwards and a goalie. A significant amount would need to be moved out to fit an 8+ million dollar player. None of those players (Parayko/Krug/Faulk/Schenn/Binnington) are what works for the Sens core.

I’d be perfectly fine getting Dean/Bolduc + 25 +.

Even Snuggard straight up I’d be happy with.

Wasn’t there a lot os speculation that O’Reilly will sign back with St Louis.

Blues could put together a package that makes sense for both sides.

Schenn or Saad (if they waive) are both signed to reasonable deals and we get at least 3 years out of them. Toronto or Dallas' first rounder, one of Schenn or Saad and another piece might work for both teams if we send Cat and someone like Thomson or a pick

That'd be a solid package. I'd like a forward back, but each of those guys are solid prospects. I doubt they trade Neighbours tho, would really like him

Schenn has surpassed 56 points 5 times in his career.
Oh ya looking at PIMS, don’t think we need a centre

If Schenn would waive his full NTC, which is always an unlikely condition with this team, I could see the team being interested in him, despite him being in his 30s.

His contract isn't that bad. It's almost identical to the deal we gave to Giroux, who doesn't exactly fit the core age of the team either.

34YR old Giroux got 6.5M x 3YRs after a 65 point season

Soon-to-be 32YR old Schenn will be paid 6.5M x 4YRs and he too had 65 points last year
