Schenn would be a solid player to target. He did play six seasons with Giroux. Acquiring him might also help with possibly signing his brother as well if the Sens want to shore up the d core.

He is not exactly the same caliber of player but getting Brayden Schenn would kind of be like when the Kings acquire Mike Richards.
Welcome back Rafi. Schenn would be a solid target & would certainly help but I'm more in line with acquiring good younger players/prospects.

If the Sens would make a deal with St Louis I would like to see them target Jimmy Snuggerud RW & one of their late 1st rd picks. Oliver Bonk RD should be available late in the 1st rd who Ott could target. While that doesn't help right now I think they have some players that could help them now in their org & those two would certainly help them in a few yrs when the group is reaching their prime. The free money could also help them sign a couple of UFAs that could help them right now.

Tkachuk - Stutzle - Giroux
Formenton - Norris - Batherson
Greig - Pinto - Gauthier
Ostapchuk - Kastelic - Sokolov

I like the idea of going after Bertuzzi and what Shawn Simpson tweeted about Pinto and Batherson being grouped together

Figure out a way to sign Perry this off season, play him on the LW

Sign Nyquist

Figure out a way to get Hellebuyck

Tkachuk-Stützle-Giroux
Bertuzzi-Norris-Nyquist
Grieg-Pinto-Batherson
Perry-Kastelic-Joesph

Sanderson-Chychrun
Chabot-Zub
Brannstrom-JBD

Hellebuyck
Forsberg

Lebrun saying Konecny probably the next to go. Dorion have to find a 3 way trade involving DeBrincat for Hart and Konecny

Also said Nashville in top of the list. One of Askarov or Saros, let's go Pierre

Garrioch mentioned Detroit, Washington, Carolina, St.Louis, and Nashville as trade suitors for DBC

I don’t have confidence in our ability to get a top 6 UFA so we got to get a player back, or a first that we can flip for a player

I was on the trade DBC train anyway so this should be an interesting summer

We already have two young goalie prospects coming up in Sogaard and Merlainen. Askarov is a prospect goalie. I would like a proven goalie with NHL experience to help our goaltending situation next season, not another prospect goalie.
Not to mention that if we really wanted three, we could have simply kept Gus.

I agree, not the solution here.

Nashville fan here, we have Forsberg, Duchene, Tomasino, Evangelista Kemell fighting for four winger spots, plus Parssinen and Novak who can play center. I don't think DeBrincat is on our radar when we need defense and centers.

Sanderson would be a much more interesting player if we wanted to move Askarov or Saros.

Seattle, Buffalo, Detroit, Montreal and Columbus are all teams I suspect want to add goaltending help.

Same goes for Anaheim if they trade Gibson, Winnipeg if they trade Hellebuyck and Philly after they trade Hart, although obviously trading them will scratch some names off the list of teams above.

There are rumours that Edmonton and Toronto are sniffing around Hart, but I doubt they make any changes to their goaltending duos.

As for your point about desirable destinations and open starter spots, it's obviously the case that Ottawa is not an ideal destination for most players and is on most player's NTCs. It's also debatable whether we have an open spot for a starter, as I'm sure any goalie we add will be splitting starts in a 1A/1B format with Forsberg.
OK so Seattle has Grubauer signed who just stole a series and makes big money. So they're definitely out. Buffalo is similar to Ottawa. All the rest of those teams are brutal. Anaheim has Gibson so if they do actually trade him it's to one of those teams same with Hellybuck.

No one's trading for Hart right now. Toronto is going to sign samsonov if not that's another goalie option. Edmonton has no cap space and is stuck with Campbell.

It's not debatable there is an NHL spot open here and the starter spot is up for grabs.

There are 7 ufa goalie options. Andersen, Korpisalo, Samsonov, Hill, Jarry, Varlamov and Raanta. Thank you for proving my point. Ottawa has plenty of options. Spending more assets on acquiring another goalie when the team has no picks a dwindling prospect pool and very little depth makes absolutely no sense. There are only 60 jobs out there for that position. Ones open here. Someone will sign.

Do we even have the assets (prospects or draft picks) to acquire anyone from a rebuilding team?

Ostapchuk would be someone that Philly could be interested in.
No they don't. Trading DBC gives them something just as valuable in a flat cap world and that's cap space. The return is going to be sad but atleast the team will have flexibility.

Oh ya looking at PIMS, don’t think we need a centre
You always need centers. He'd be a great pick up. Actually plays physical hockey and plays wing.

I’m fine with ADB being traded because the Sens need to change their focuse from winning games 5-4 and winning games 3-2.

1 . Trade ADB and just rely on internal scoring improvements from Sandy, Pinto, Formenton
2. Hire a coach who believes in the philosophy of an NHL season where you win games 3-2
3. Get a goalie who can keep games close and can be consistent

I'm sure he would! Sandy is untouchable.

The Debrincat trade will be a win no matter what as long as we don’t take a bad contract back.
