I personally would hate for the team to trade a guy like Staal based on "not fitting into AV's system". There is a reason why most NHL teams don't play man in the defensive zone.
I'm sure this has been discussed ad nauseam, but what do you guys think we could get for a Staal/Girardi/MDZ+Miller package? For as much as I like what I've seen from him, I think it's time we sell high on a relatively unproven (potential) NHL talent with decent upside. Miller probably has the highest value of any of our prospects after McIlrath.
A top line forward. Not many of those become available though, unless you consider Ales Hemsky a 1st liner.
AV got hired before Seguin got traded to Dallas, right? Hindsight is funny, we blew a golden opportunity.
If this 500 crap keeps up, just play the season out, unload dead weight at the deadline and just draft a forward if we get a good pick, screw it
I wish it was this simple. Knowing Glen he's going to keep all the dead weight and let them all walk for nothing ala Lamoriello![]()
I think this team needs a David Clarkson. Great possession player who gets into dirty areas and gets things done.
Staal+Hagelin for Skinner+
Staal+Hagelin for Skinner+
I wanna keep Hagelin, but i'll play this fantasy trade game.
Staal, Hagelin, Bourque and a 2nd for Skinner, Tlusty, and Murphy
Skinner another small soft forward yea just what the Rangers need...![]()
My trade isnt serious, i dont even want Skinner. Youre obsessed with big forwards though, that much is clear

Skinner is far from soft. He's a very chippy player that rides the line between aggressive and dirty at times.
