MDZ, Brassard, Pouliot, draft pick

For

Spezza and Zib

That's wishful thinking. Unless that draft pick is a #1, I doubt Ottawa touches this and they might not anyway.

I think it's important we keep our draft picks for next year considering how late we drafted this past season. We ended up with decent players anyway but you never know what you're going to get with third rounders.

It would be nice if we could peel Adam McQuaid away from Boston . He would be a great fit for our club...a warrior who never shies away from confrontation and does not mind whacking in front of he net or behind it . Bruins have a couple of kids Krug/Hamilton who will command much more ice time moving forward...we should investigate on McQuaid . I bet Bruins would love Brian Boyle a Boston boy...then again he likely would learn how to fight and become a monster every time we played them LOL .
:)

Spezza is hardly "old". He's also a legit #1 center. His contract isn't binding longterm and he'll be a free agent the same year Staal hits free agency. Brassard is due for a raise this offseason and I'm not sure the Rangers want to pay him 3.5-4 million a year. Corvo would be cheap this season and a free agent afterwards. He's also a RHD that passes the puck well, which is exactly what we need on defense.

The trade would have no impact on the team past next season and it actually removes money off the payroll for next year. How that compares to the deals we made in the early 2000s is beyond me. Unless you just assume any trade where one team receives older players is worse. If you don't think Spezza is a significant upgrade over Brassard, you should start watching other teams play hockey.

What do you think we could really get for Marc Staal? I think a #1 center with a decent enough contract is pretty damn good.

Kreider-Stepan-Nash
Richards-Spezza-MZA

That's a damn good top 6 for this year and next.

Could have sworn your post had Staal and Stepan, which is why i disagreed. Staal and Brassard for Spezza and Corvo cant work if Corvo is involved. He is 36 and isnt what he used to be. We lose that trade imo

^ sad but true.

This team is in horrendous condition. Every forward position needs upgrading, save Rick Nash.

McQuaid isn't much of a defender honestly. He is a bit slow and is not great at pivoting. The Bruins forwards as a group, are some of the best overall forward groups in the NHL which helps their defense A LOT>

If I were James Dolan, I'd cancel the rest of my tour with my ****** band, head straight back to NY, and completely blow up the management team of the Knicks and the Rangers. Thats just about the only thing that will save both teams at this point.

doubt anyone wants the Rangers crap and the players that have value, Sather will let walk as an UFA at end of the year.. Rangers are stuck. :help:

The teams needs an attitude adjustment, not a turnover. We are 5-6 games over .500 if they play with a more urgent and determined attitude.

Relax.

Tell me where he's wrong? The pieces this team is lacking you don't get by making trades in December.

Apparently they don't get fixed over the course of a decade+ either. The same problems have existed for years now. Sather has shown no ability to remedy them, so I can't even begin to imagine he has the slightest idea of how to do so now.

it also needs Callahan to stop acting like Chris Drury in his interviews. im tired of hearing the same crap. does the MSG networks write down what the players are allowed to say???? :help: so dull and full of crap

And this is the part that the Fantasy GMs on this board want to ignore.

Boston GM Peter Chiarelli was at the game last night. Flyers AGM Ron Hextall was there also. Ottawa had two people at the game. Stop coaching Pat reported that.

I guess I'm feeling optimistic, since, after all, it's December and I'm under the impression that it's way too early to be this doom and gloom about a team's fortune.

A trade for a player that provides energy and sets an example of never quitting would do wonders for this team. They need more of those type of players. As I said in my last post, there's an attitude problem on this team. It has improved since the beginning of the season but it's still not where it needs to be.

There are some black holes in this team that really hurt us. Del Zotto. I find he is nearly almost always on the ice when some sort of terribly deflating goal happens.

Richards. Talk about the amount of wide open nets he's missed that could have affected our games this season. He's one of our top paid players, and he's supposed to lead. Lead by example. He's supposed to be one who comes up big when the team needs him. He's missing wide open nets. Wide. Open. Nets. Also, he also seems to quit on plays relatively easily nowadays, which have led to several goals themselves.

Pyatt/Pouloit. No explanation needed.

Those are the immediate changes that need to happen to have some sort of effect on this team. Richards is still providing useful, but needs to be bought out by the end of the year.

Del Zotto needs out of this team immediately. We need an energy guy to replace Poo/Pyatt.

We need a top 6 winger. A top 9 winger. And to call up McIlrath. 2 trades, 1 involving the immediate removal of DZ. 1 call up.

Seems like Brown is of the same mold (on the Kings). Annoying because you want to hear him take some responsibility but he's trying to remain as composed (emotionally) as he can. He may be different on the ice/in the locker room.

Well, Dolan has been known for providing "training" in what players are allowed and not allowed to say.

Im sure they were all equally horrified by what they saw.

I'd imagine Sather had just got the Ott GM to offer Zibanedjad straight up for Del Zotto. The Ott GM told him he'd like to see him play in person, at MSG, against the Jets before finalizing the deal. They had a gentleman's shake. Then the 3rd and 4th goals happened. Sather turned around nervously to survey the damage but the Ott GM had snuck out already.

now that were discussing the option of trading stepan do we start discussing trading Nash after our next loss? that will surely be fun

also love the emotional swing around here, people are on cloud nine after the win against Vancouver and now feel the need to make all kinds of knee jerk reactionary trades as if were going to somehow fix this team via trade in December.
