This is what you get when you mistake dead-weight for depth. I bought into it in the off-season, I thought we had way more depth than last season. I am here to eat my crow.

Yeah, so am I. Lot of players disappointing me.
Same. A pot of garbage or underachieving players.
Underachieving in a season where they should be playing for a contract. Going above and beyond.
Our "core players", quite frankly, look like ****.
McD, Kreider. Those are keepers. Stepan is close.
Everyone else like Callahan, Staal, and Girardi should be traded for young talent or picks. We're not winning anything with them this year, and we're not winning anything when they get bloated contracts.
Young but not great players like Brassard, Moore, etc. are hard to decide on.
Bring in guys with a winning attitude. Not losers like Poop, Pyatt, or players from loser franchises like Columbus or Edmonton. Bring in guys with mental fortitude who won't crumble like a house of cards when they something doesn't go their way.
TLDR: I am so done with this core.
this team is run like any Manhattan corporation. it just has to turn a profit. a hockey team on madison ave is a novelty of nyc. just like any long running broadway show.
signing lundqvist is just a corporate decision to save face. "we want to win the stanely cup"... sure, I want to win a million dollars. sounds great. means nothing.
Sather doesn't know how or what it takes to win in this league today.
I'm baffled by these Columbus moves though. I thought Sather was surrounded by more intelligence than that. I can't believe they stood by and supported these moves bringing in these losers.
We're the NY bluejackets.
Are people still moaning about trading Gaborik? He's terrible now. Get over it. They should have traded him years ago
no, the team we traded him to and the players we got in return.
should have waited instead of bringing in "depth" for a playoff run for a coach you fired a month later...
you should read more carefully

Should have waited? To trade gaborik when he was completely worthless? How much value do you think he has now? Anisimov is worth more.
The mistake was not trading him years ago to the kings when they were sniffing around and offering Simmonds and Schenn
A lot of fans liked that trade when it went down. But Moore has taken a step back, Brassard hasn't figured it how to bring it consistently, and Dorsett is not the Prust we were hoping for but rather some nightmarish Avery/Hollweg lovechild.
I do agree though they should be focused on bringing in guys from successful cultures.
