I'm curious as to what we can get for Stepan. I no longer believe the hype associated with him. I see him as being a good #2C, and not someone you can rely on making consistent good plays.
He is a good #2. When was he supposed to be a #1?
From people on this board overvaluing his stock, and when he has been getting 1st line minutes.
I've seen too many times to my liking where he is either playing scared or stupid. That crap makes me think he's a borderline #2C.
Funny how Torts supposedly held back the offense, but Stepan had his best year last year under Torts. Now under AV, he is back to being a 2nd line center again. Lol
He had spurts here and there where he racked up points under Torts, but this..inexcusable.

how about Zenon Konopka instead of Brodziak.. he adds much more size and grit on the team and is a solid fighter and is much better on faceoffs..
Burmistrov already went to Russia, why waste time with him?
You're ignoring the contrast of the situation. Being horribly misused by Claude Noel, being rushed in a terribly run organization, and he asked for a trade first. Cheveldayoff wouldn't trade him, so he left.
I don't blame him for doing so.
And he wouldnt leave our crap organization? Lol
Pyatt, Pouliot and a 2nd for M Moulson?
And I don't care how free-agent weary this fanbase is, I would break the bank for Dion Phaneuf. He's the kind of really good free agent that usually doesn't make it to FA. I go all in for him.
You can't even compare the Rangers to the trash heap that was the Thrashers. There's no comparison.
I'd want to leave to.
This organization might be run awfully, but there's no cancerous culture like the worst NHL organizations have.

This ties into the Yakupov stuff again. Do you really want to risk assets on a guy who will bolt with the first sign of adversity? No thanks.

He asked to be traded, multiple times, and wasn't. What would you do? Play 5 minutes a game for a coach that openly disrespects you?
