Richards for Subban.

It could happen again, right?

Asked on the trade board but I'll ask here too.

Honest question, has Eklund ever broken a deal? I tend to not believe anything that doesn't come from the TSN guys.

The morning is almost over. Where is the trade? Now its the Rangers and Habs. This rumor is from 2 weeks ago. Adam Graves has been scouting the Habs. Mark Mowers has been scouting the Rangers. A french reporter tweeted the Rangers and Habs were discussing a deal on the morning of the Vancouver game.

I actually like Kulikov. I think there's a pretty solid connection between his level of play, and the direction in which that team has been going. Very mobile, can move the puck well and play in all situations. The question becomes whether or not he can find his game again with a change of scenery, and when you're targeting that kind of player, it's hard to justify giving up a lot in trade.

Best case, he brings an element of offense and mobility to the blue line that's more suited to the system that AV wants to play. Worst case, he flops and he bolts for Russia.

He broke the Richards and Carter deals when Philly blew it up. He's a former beat writer from Philly, so he does have connections there. Most other stuff is just pure speculation on his part.

They better not be trying for Prust to try and re-kindle past success.

Churn, churn, churn.

You know who else is only 23? Michael Del Zotto.

You must be confused.

Mid round pick for a decent young DMan.

Bad trade because MDZ is also a decent young DMan?

How do you figure?

You add as much depth as you can. If you can get kulikov cheap, you do it. Chances are you aren't going to find a guy who can play at all in the mid rounds of the draft.

If kulikov can be as capable as MDZ, and you move MDZ for an offensive player, then that absolutely is a positive for the team

I noticed a trend with Eklund. Bill Zito is now an AGM with Columbus. When he was an agent,Eklund would break stories involving his clients. Zito had an agency website and all the scoops were Zito clients. Guys who signed as free agents and were traded. Tim Thomas. Wisniewski. Madden.

I would like to think Dorsett essentially replaced Prust.

This team needs more than Prust or Avery. Masking the team's real issues with one or both of those two isn't fixing the issue.

What is montreal even looking for and what are they willing to move? Defense? Offense?

Just more minor leaguers?

Gee now I'm no longer confused. Now try to answer my question: other than being a warm body—and a 23-year-old one at that, what does he really add to this team?

Seems an awful lot like more of the same. But who cares, trades are fun.

We aren't getting Kulikov for a mid round pick. His value is at least equal to MDZ's right now, which means that if you are trading MDZ and bringing in Kulikov, it's a wash.

Lars Eller would be an excellent fit with the Rangers. JJ Daigneault was a former Hartford/CT assistant coach. He is now an assistant in Montreal. Maybe the Habs want a D.I remember reading a few years ago the Hawks liked Brass when he was feuding with Arniel. Bergevin was part of the Hawks front office then.
