so we sign our 2nd best dman to keep us a contender, and you don't want MSL because of it?.. I"m confused.

I should rephrase, I don't want MSL for Callahan.

Would rather trade him for younger assets.

Yeah yeah MSL is still amazing but he's still 38. And he doesn't solve this team's issue of no #1C or PMD.

We're just adding to an already strong position of strength.

It won't take just Callahan, I just don't believe that.

Why do you have to just do one or the other?

This is the thing most here don't seem to understand.

Sather doesn't bring up Callahan's file and have to click "Buy" or "Sell."

The thing smart organizations do is flip their aging players who price themselves out to fill other holes and replace that player from within with a Miller or a Fast or a combination of one of those players and the return.

The Rangers don't really do this, for the most part. Sather just sees the next shiny object and doesn't seem to have any long-term plan whatsoever.

They just traded their elite 12 years of service goalie and their captain. How often can you trade that?

Besides, what you say above is what most would say is why the Rangers can't get past the second round...

Regardless of the seaosn he's having Miller isn't elite. His career average is basically...average

You know.. legit question.. when have the Rangers really "gone all in"?..

2011/2012?.. no, they didn't have the scoring to win the cup and their big trade was.. John Scott!!..

2013/2014?.. No, they didn't have the scoring, they traded for Ryan freaking Clowe. Then on top of that traded their 2nd best goal scorer who wasn't producing ok fine..

but when have the Rangers really gone äll in" and actually decided hey, we're gonna go for it?

that was 12/13... and you can thank torts for that one

regardless, they have yet to go äll in"and actually upgrade the team when the rest of the other teams they would play against were doing so.

I feel if they added MSL to the team they already have this year, they would be doing just that.

Or even better question, how often do you have a chance to fix your biggest weakness with one player and the player says he only wants to play for your team.

You take that and run

Who cares? Let's just shut our eyes and hope for the best!

But then we wouldn't be able to debate our late first round pick in the draft and speculate how long it's going to take for him to blossom into our first line stud of the future..

It happened 2 years ago with Nash. 3 with Richards. And here we are not much better off.

you mean debate how Rangers management screwed up another pick? :sarcasm:

You have no idea what you're talking about. "Average" NHL goaltenders don't have 284 wins (so far) and a Vezina while routinely facing top 5 shots against in the league.

He's not in the conversation because he's had **** teams in front of him.
