Im not a big believer in Nash come crunch time. If I could get equal value for him, I would trade him. Im not a rush to trade him, but if I can get equal value and it fills a need on the team, I would move him.

agree with this. personally I wish we had never gotten rid of gaborik. I would trade Nash for Gabs in a heartbeat

Everyone missed the point. Do you see how he maximized his assets and filled their holes immediately?

Maximized assets by trading assets most teams don't trade, yeah sure.

Most teams don't trade Thomas Vanek and Ryan Miller. Those players will get back those returns.

A Rangers equivalent would probably be Brassard for Derek Roy + 2nd. No point.

And, let's be honest, the Vanek acquisition by the Islanders was a moronic trade for the Isles who thought Vanek would put them over the top and instead it screwed up chemistry, got them a player they can't sign, and lost important draft picks.

The real story is how bad the Islanders made out in that deal.

That's what I keep trying to explain, but nobody seems to read my posts :(

how legit is this???

MARTIN ST. LOUIS MAY BE A RANGER THIS WEEKEND

NY would send Ryan Callahan, a depth forward or prospect and a 3rd round pick to Tampa Bay for Martin St. Louis. A conditional pick could come back to the Rangers if the Lightning re-sign Callahan or make it to the Eastern Conference Finals.

fulltilt pulling the ***************.. wait and wait and try to guess from highly reported rumors that a deal is about to go down.

trying to get lucky and look like they broke it.. all that is.

Why do you have to just do one or the other?

I understand what you're getting at. You don't have to be one or the other. But if we remove Callahan from the lineup, and don't upgrade that position, what are we doing? Weakening ourselves for a playoff run?

That's not going for it.

so we sign our 2nd best dman to keep us a contender, and you don't want MSL because of it?.. I"m confused.

if MSL costs a future "maybe", a "nobody" prospect like Ryan Bourque, and Ryan Callahan (who doesn't want to be here, and is not resigning for anything reasonable), you do that trade all day

Do you really think downgrading from Ott to Stewart is a big downgrade? Worth 2 picks + prospect to downgrade from Miller to Halak?

No, but St. Louis must have.. In both cases..... Thus having to include picks to entice the Sabers into the "downgrade" at their respective positions.
