If Miller, Skjei, Fast, or Lindberg is shipped out for a 38 y/o MSL I am going to be livid.

The Rangers should be doing the opposite. At worst they should be dealt for a Center not a RW.

I am with you.

They need more youth, not less

The prospect pool is not strong enough for them to be handing out picks, prospects and young players without getting the same if not more back.

They need a center in order to buyout Richards, if he is not being bought out, I really don't know what to say, the whole MSL with Richards thing is so 2004

I wonder if Anthony Duclair is a guy teams would ask for ahead of our AHL prospects. The Q is the Q and he's far away, but I'd feel very uncomfortable about losing the guy who might have the best shot at being a gamebreaker at the NHL level. We went for boom/bust three times in that third round for a reason.

I think trading Miller would be incredibly stupid.

Agree. Even with the growing pains he's been a contributor often throughout the games he's played. Give him a couple of years and he could very well be Ryan Kesler without the injuries.

To win the Cup this year we will have to miracle our way there, just how we won last night. Hang on by the skin of our teeth and pray.

Not exactly the way to do things. Does St. Louis or Kesler make us better than the league's top teams? No.

Might also be a good time to sell high on McIlrath.

(or, at least high as possible before his value plummets further)

don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that we should package all these kids up and ship them off for Marty.

However, if these kids were all that good, the Wolfpack would be doing better than bottom feeding no?

The only guy that has gone donw there and done much of anything is Miller.

Fast - mediocre

Lindberg - mediocre

Kristo - mediocre

I don't know that i would be that upset if we moved Fast with Callahan for this year and next of Marty. Maybe if he's still effective he take a bit of a dicount one year deal at 40.

Fast and Lindberg are 1st year pros. not fair to blame them although they did play in the SEL... how about blaming the 2ed pro players like Jean and Yogan for not doing that well in a league that they are familiar with.

If you trade someone like Fast/Skjei/etc., then the Rangers need a plan about how to go about replacing them. There's not much depth in the prospect pool right now. The Rangers have had only 9 draft picks in the last two drafts which doesn't help matters going forward. What has made organizations like Chicago so impressive is that they are capable of winning at the NHL level while simultaneously keeping the prospect pool well stocked.

How can you blame guys like Jean and Yogan for not being good enough?

That would be like me blaming my dog for being a horrible conversationalist.....

They are absolutely part of the problem. No question.

I just don't see people getting up in arms over their inclusion in trade talks.

The point I am making is that their individual inclusion in a deal for a talent like St. Louis for me is not a problem.

Callahan and any one of those three I am fine with. My preference would be to hold Lindberg as I think you can never have enough good center depth.

Cally and Kristo for MSL I do that every day.

Cally and Fast for MSL, again, every day.

If i were to make any prospect (other than Miller and Kreider if you still consider Kreider a prospect) untouchable, it would be Skjei. None of these names; Kesler, St. Louis, sure as heck not Yakupov, are worth losing Skjei, who IMO is going to be a top-end shut down defenseman.

I'd definitely do that. As for the other, I'd most likely do it, I just envision Fast as the guy to replace Cally in the long run.

Why do I feel a "Satherrrrrrrrrrr WTF?!?!"
Moment coming on?

Because it's Sather, and he's in his 70's and he recently had cancer, and he wants a ring before he departs the GM position.

Serious question. Has a team ever signed a guy after he hit unrestricted free agency? By a team, I mean the team that he played for leading up to free agency.

Larry Brooks ‏@NYP_Brooksie 11s
Girardi has agreed to contract extension

Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDreger 10s
6 years, $5.5 per for Girardi staying with Rangers.

Pretty dense to pin the Wolfpack's lack of success on 4 guys

you mis understand me.

I don't care about Hartford.

I am making the statement I made with regards to my belief that the guys I mentioned are medicore.

They (individually) are not reason enough to say no to a MSL trade.

If TB wants Cally and any two of those kids, then answer is without question no.

But as mentioned Cally and either Fast OR Kristo?

I couldn't say yes fast enough.

6 million a year means Staal gets the same.

Lots of money tied into 6 players for a team who is slightly above average and whose prospect pool is marginal.

"All in" in 2014 I guess.
