If Miller, Skjei, Fast, or Lindberg is shipped out for a 38 y/o MSL I am going to be livid.

The Rangers should be doing the opposite. At worst they should be dealt for a Center not a RW.

for some reason since it died down, i wont be shocked if on wednesday that Evander Kane or Andrew Ladd ends up on the Ranger....

they have something Rangers lack, skill, size, grit and the willing to stay in front of the net, especially a guy like Ladd.

how would you guys feel if Sather pulled this deal out of nowhere????

Looks like you're the one pulling deals out of nowhere.

With some of the names mentioned

Ryan Miller
Martin Brodeur
St. Louis
Callahan
Girardi
Yakupov
Myers

This could be the biggest trade deadline in a long time.

Completely agree. And a young center, not one who has 2 years left in him.

I'd love to acquire elite NHL talent for second tier prospects as well, but gotta be realistic. Going to have to pony up a decent prospect and pick... Regardless of the situation, still has to be beneficial for both teams to some degree ..

don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that we should package all these kids up and ship them off for Marty.

However, if these kids were all that good, the Wolfpack would be doing better than bottom feeding no?

The only guy that has gone donw there and done much of anything is Miller.

Fast - mediocre

Lindberg - mediocre

Kristo - mediocre

I don't know that i would be that upset if we moved Fast with Callahan for this year and next of Marty. Maybe if he's still effective he take a bit of a dicount one year deal at 40.

Pretty dense to pin the Wolfpack's lack of success on 4 guys

Wasn't it due to multiple injuries and the lack of an effective goaltender after Talbot got called up? It's not a coincidence that the Pack have been playing better since signing Grumet-Morris. Not to mention Fast and Lindberg have been acclimating to NA rinks and style.

I want Marty here at the expense of anyone except Miller, maybe McIlrath and maybe Skjei, but the argument is more "we can't afford our prospect depth getting worse when it is already bad" than "Danny Kristo is a first line talent." I understand that, even if I don't think we can turn down buying Marty St. Louis from the dollar store. HFD also needs more AHL-star Kris Newbury types and (maybe) a coaching change.

You can't use the Wolfpack's record to gauge the prospect pool but I agree to an extent. People have a tendency to really overrate the Ranger's prospects. People scoff at the idea of trading one of those players away when there's a good chance that some/most of those player's won't have much of a career at the NHL level. Marty St. Louis is an elite talent, very rarely do you get a chance to add one of those guys to the team.

Not sure. I freely admit that I don't follow the 'Pack too closely.

But Ill never let anyone attribute the success (or lack thereof) to 3 or 4 guys on a 20 man roster.
