It's crazy cause in a cap world if you have a right wing making about $2M more than he's worth every year, you have to get production out of someone else who is massively overachieving. And that assumes you don't have other overpaid players. Teams have to evaluate contracts in that context. Cally is an important player but not $7Mper important. If he wants to stay here he needs to bring down his demands. And if being here isn't that important then good riddance.

You have no idea what the hell I was talking about. I wasn't talking about if the Rangers should or shouldn't pay him.....

No it's not crazy if a team is willing to pay him. Does it make sense for the Rangers to pay him? Probably not...

Another team will pay Callahan. It's not like he's asking for more than another team is going to pay him. The market for Callahan is what it is as long as team is will meet his asking price. That is VERY LIKELY!

Players like Boyle are the most likely to get overlooked. That I understand.

But this guys massive hate for Boyle makes me laugh every time.

The idea was to bring down the Dorsett hate which is ridiculous which is very funny to me. See, we can all mindlessly laugh if we want to?

Boyle is by far better than Dorsett. To say he is 'no better' is ignorant and naive. Maybe Bardof is Dorsett in disguise.
No. He's been railing on Boyle nonsensically long before it's been relevant to Dorsett.

Twenty year season ticket holder dipwad; been going to games for 40 years. Try a different argument.

Wow a season ticket holder!!!!

That must mean you know more than the average fan.......

Since when does being a season ticket holder make you smarter than somebody?

Boyle is far more valuable to the Rangers than Dorsett. Far and away!! It's not even close.

Your post proves that fans see more of the game on tv than at the game.....

You said (and I'm paraphrasing) how can you call it crazy if some team is willing to meet that price tag? His production (all in) is not $7M worth based on today's cap (or the foreseeable cap) and any team that will tie up around 10% of their cap dollars in Ryan Callahan is crazy. For one year in a specific situation to get over the hump? sure. For six or seven? Crazy.

So back to the rumors...

And yes nothing new. Like I said before, push comes to shove I'd be willing to do Callahan, Miller/Lindberg, 2nd for MSL. MSL is elite level.

Read it in context. The accusation was that I don't watch games. That is clearly not true. That's all. His comment (you illiterate) is that Boyle is an exponentially better PKER than Dorsett. You really need to practice reading before typing this drivel.

It's not crazy if that's what the market dictates. That's paying market value. If you don't agree with the market, fine, but that doesn't mean it's crazy for a team to pay Callahan what he wants....

Callahan has every right to ask for $7M a year. He doesn't owe anybody but his family anything. These guys have small windows to make money. If he can get it, (and he can) good for him.

Ok, fair enough. i can see how Jon came to that conclusion though. Just look at your posts!!

Just out of curiosity, would you guys want to bring back Pouliot next season or not?

I don't see why not. I think we should sign him for somewhere around a cool million. It looks like he's actually comfortable in this system and hopefully his play will only go up the longer he is on a consistent (read: the same) team and line.

no way id do that deal. with Boyle and Moore might leave and trading Miller and Lindberg the center depth would be pretty weak.. but that is ok Rangers will have a lot of scoring but no depth up front :help: center ice is a weakness for this team....

Which is kinda what I'd expect to see as well...

I know many here think they could not possibly live with a deal where it results in dealing a top prospect, but you have to give to get. MSL is worth the marbles.

From 2006-2007 though 2010-2011, MSL played in all 82 games. All 82. 2005-2006 he played in 80. The two seasons before that he played in all 82. In 2011-2012 he missed just 5 games. Last year he played in all 48 games.

He is worth it.

In short, I propose multiple pieces on short term contracts that put St Louis over the top this year in exchange for two solid blocks we can add to McDonagh + Kreider.

Staal
Stepan
Callahan
MZA
Stralman
Talbot

for
Tarasenko, Shattenkirk + deadwood for headcount, cap
.

Obviously no team would ever trade that many pro players including some 1st line/ 1st pair talent just to get tarasenko and shattenkirk and you know that.
