no way id do that deal. with Boyle and Moore might leave and trading Miller and Lindberg the center depth would be pretty weak.. but that is ok Rangers will have a lot of scoring but no depth up front :help: center ice is a weakness for this team....

Of course you wouldn't do that deal..."tough guys" aren't involved. I didn't say Miller AND Lindberg. There was a backslash there. Reports are Lindberg has been improving throughout the year, adjusting to the smaller ice and fast game. Lindberg could be competing for a spot next year. Brassard and Stepan will be here next year. Both Boyle and Moore are not being let go. At the very least one stays.

They have depth except at center. Trading Miller or Lindberg would not change their situation.

I really don't have much criticism for the lines, or how they are used, and I would just leave them be.

As far as the debate about Boyle/Dorsett, it depends. For the 4th line and PK I'd keep Boyle. However if they did not call up Miller I'd rather see Dorsett used with the top 9 over Boyle in Zucc's absence.

Actually Boyle would probably be the last player I'd want to see in the top 9, yet he is one of the first I'd want to see on the 4th line, if that makes any sense I'm not sure. Guess I see the top 9 as being able to play one way and Boyle would not fit, where as the 4th line plays a different way and he fits that very well.

Dorsett is not a top 9 hockey player...just NO.

Did I say that?

I said I'd rather see Dorsett as a top 9 over Boyle but rather see Boyle on the 4th than Dorsett if a choice was being made.

The skating difference is large enough that Dorsett can keep up better with the speed of the other players in the top 9 where Boyle is better off on the 4th where they play a more straight ahead dump chase game.

Yeah I expect it to be Cally, 2nd, and a middle prospect, and neither Rangers nor Bolts fans will be happy.

What counts as middle? I'd sign up for it without hesitation if it's Hrivik, Yogan, Kristo, Bourque, or something like that. I'd hesitate on Lindberg and fast and say hell no to Miller. Not sure where I'd slot McI. I think I'd rather them deal Kristo than any1. We'd have Nash, MSL, MZa, where is Kristo going to fit? Not sure he'll earn a spot on his own anyway. Hopefully TB likes Kristo a lot.

Agree completely, and keep McI simply due to the fact we've invested way to much in this guy already and if i see him succeed somewhere else i'll tear my eyes out.

Miller should 2000% not be traded for MSL. It's sad to see people think that.

I will buy you an HFBoards subscription if it is Miller.

I appreciate that.

To what someone else said about TB having good young forward prospect depth...this is true. The thing is, Callahan could very well walk. Miller could be his "replacement." Similar game.

But the other alternative could be Brady Skjei.

Has there been any new news to make people think Sather has changed his mind about dealing young assets for MSL?

This is going to drag to at least Tuesday or right up to the deadline. GM's are waiting for the first shoe to drop.

I said weeks ago how it's important for the Rangers to deal Callahan before Vanek in the case that he would be moved. If the return for Vanek is underwhelming, that puts the Rangers in a bad position in dealing Callahan. Time to **** or get off the pot. Sather has the chance to set the market here rather than react to it. If Callahan and his agent still don't back off from their ridiculous demands, trade him away to the highest bidder as of now.

There were two instances in which I cringed when Callahan got in front of hard shots in the third period. One hit him in the head, another in the arm. The injury risk is very high. Don't be a fool, Sather. Tell AV to sit Callahan and play Dorsett.

EDIT: The organization values Miller very highly. He did not look out of place at all last night. He's going to be a good middle 6 center. He won't be traded for a 38 year old player, even point per game MSL that can probably keep it up another 2-3 years.

It's quiet....too quiet. Since the MSL story broke, the rangers side has been very quiet. We've heard from Stevie Y and MSL...but nothing from NYR. Just seems like sather and Gorton are hanging in the shadows waiting to see if the price changes in the coming days...and if not...maybe they up the price.

Who needs news for that?

But no there has not been anything new. I don't believe it's dead in the water though. I think Sather is looking at his options and if he has to pony up Tuesday night to guarantee we don't lose Callahan for naught this summer he will.

No, your idea was to talk **** on Boyle like you do every chance you get. You're obsessed.

Thanks for telling me what I was thinking, but no. I think Dorsett gets a rough ride here that he doesn't deserve and that is where it started. The opportunity to roll Boyle into it was purely gratuitous.

Or maybe they've long since moved on and are working on other things?

I'd be a lot more willing to part with Lindberg, as Miller brings the element of physicality this team lacks.

Your story would be believable if you didn't crap on Boyle every time he's mentioned.

Make sure we can resign Staal and then send Tampa one of our lefty D prospects like Skeji. I know everyone here is infatuated with prospects but truth is we have McD locked up, hopefully Staal locked up and J Moore under team control with Allen waiting in the wings. They can't all play for us. They're assets.

for some reason since it died down, i wont be shocked if on wednesday that Evander Kane or Andrew Ladd ends up on the Ranger....

they have something Rangers lack, skill, size, grit and the willing to stay in front of the net, especially a guy like Ladd.

how would you guys feel if Sather pulled this deal out of nowhere????

It seems like you have a gut feeling the Rangers will acquire all your favorite players.
