Boomer just said that both players are leaving the Olympics uninjured.

Many people have asked him about MSL, and he hasn't responded to any of them, but he has been saying no to practically every other player.
 
Well I won't waste too much time speculating, it'll either happen or not, he isn't going to tell us who it is ahead of time, clearly his source did not want him passing the info along directly.

He could also have been asked to leak this to advance NYR bargaining with St. Louis Blues, as an effort to up their bid.

Definitely a possibility.
 
With all the clues that have been dropped, it almost has to be MSL. (Who is also one of the few players that fans have suggested that he has not outrighted denied.) And you know what? I agree that the Rangers would likely have to add their pick for even value. So, if the deal goes down without the Rangers' pick, I think we'd be getting more value.

And I would STILL hate the deal.

People talk like it's this new rumored deal or a 4th rounder. There have GOT to be other options available. Stewart + is the only other specific rumor we've heard, but there have got to be others as well. I would imagine at the very least, you could get someone to pony up the Clowe return, but "upgraded" a round - something like a 1st, a 2nd and a conditional 4th that becomes a 1st if the team makes the CF or re-signs the player.

If that's the best we could do, I would much rather have those picks to use in other deals and/or draft more prospects that can eventually contribute to a true contending core than have MSL to compete for ice time on the RW with Nash and MZA for 2 years before then riding off into the sunset - while we still have gaping holes at center and offensive defenseman all the while.

Bobby Ryan adds up on a lot of levels. NYR tried to get him for Dubi back in the day. It just makes sense..

Marchand has been on fire since the Vancouver incident. Makes no sense for the Bruins.

They're not unhappy with him and he hasn't been replaced in the top 6 since October

Still not no to MSL, but suggesting they don't have the cap space to keep Richards with him.
